Television ALIEN: EARTH TV Series (New Teaser Trailers, post #127)

lol, that 15 seconds teaser was just a total waste of time!! why do they even do that?

Check this out on a better screen than my phone.

They want to make a huge success again, but I dont know how to recreate the experience. I know that adding new shit isnt it.

Still not feeling it. There were no xenos on Earth, at any point in the franchise, so this is some bullshit.

(I guess if you count AvP you could say there were, and that's a hell of a lot better prequel than the prometheus trash, so if this is going off of that....I'll accept it). But if this is ties into prometheus, then no, this show can go to hell.

oh boy ... a prequel

are we about to find out the Xenos are not actually Aliens but were created as hybrid clones on Earth the Space Jockeys were actually human

maybe that's why they resemble insects because everything needs to be explained

fortunately, i care a lot more about the creator/showrunner than the alien lore, so i’m really looking forward to this

This sounds stupid AF. They're retconning when humans first encountered the xenomorphs. This is some stupid ass cash grab.

"When a space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's biggest threat."

Honestly I think besides the crap writing with characters acting dumb and things happerning for the sake of it part of the problem was that the prequels were not weird enough, Gigers designs hinted at some mind shredding strangeness but it ended up being something out of Ancient Aliens.
yeah it was more like a horror on par with what he did in Dark Seed video game. You have to wonder what exactly the aliens are and really they were just nightmare fuel

Is it supposed to predate the Prometheus story arc? Going earlier than that is silly.

edit: yeah, it essentially coincides with the Prometheus events. Lame.
The only way this could work would be if the presence of these aliens is the actual reason Weyland funds the project. The data and story are compelling but I'll have to pass -- but then this happens? And it would have to be a very limited event where Weyland is able to clean everything up and keep it super secret. I still don't like it. not to say i'm not excited for the series, I am, but messing with the timeline in this way; Xenomorphs on Earth prior to Prometheus is weaksauce

Acknowledging Prometheus at all is silly.
I'm so torn on that movie. The idea and cinematography are amazing, the storytelling and stupid mistakes are almost unforgivable, but I will watch it if it pops up. Its not even close to the worst Alien movie. The sequel to Prometheus was an actual bad movie and it did so much harm to the origin story established in Prometheus.

Itd be pretty simple to write a story and make a small outbreak only known to a select few, like Weyland Yutani.

Noah Hawley is incredible and for his presence alone I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that he has something in mind that works.

Unless this results in a Xeno Apocalypse on earth (like the books/comics) then I'm not that interested.
