I'll be happy if the Xenomorph chomps on McBride first.
I hope he last till near the end. I think they're going with the everyman type character which he fits. I can easily see him shooting the shit with Brett and Parker.

I think the whole hate for cgi nowadays is its over use. My opinion certain things work better with practical fx and certain things work better with cgi. The problem for me is when you get cgi for everything. Also a lot of directors need to be more restrained with it, often the scenes are just too over the top with too much happening and it becomes a mess

Milking the cash cow until it's dust and bones I see.

New Red-Band Trailer for ALIEN: COVENANT Brings the Gore

The lady with the short hair was really sexy in Inherent Vice.

I have zero confidence in this, and the trailers/production photos have done nothing to improve that feeling. I think Prometheus may be one of the worst films I've ever seen (at least when taking into account the huge talent involved; what should have been at minimum an 8/10 was probably more like a 3/10).

Could not agree more. Ridley Scott has a fine eye for color and lighting, but his movies have lacked substance for years. Everything he's made from Kingdom of Heaven forward has been big budget garbage. He shows no talent for storytelling any more, and his actors turn in performances I'd expect from a Bret Ratner movie. Really just seems to be no soul or passion to his films any longer.

80s Scott is one of the greatest directors of all time (easily a top 50, and on my personal short list of 10), but 2000s Ridley is just a shell of himself and a disgrace to his own career.

I liked this movie better when it was a direct sequel to Prometheus, I was interested to see how the MC and David were going to arrive in the Engineers homeworld, what the homeworld looked like, what type of culture and technology they had, the mystery of how and why they created the human race. The expansion of the Aliens universe by introducing new species like Engineers and backstory that connects to the Xenomorths.

But no, everyone had to complain about Prometheus lack of Xenomorphs, "Wheres muh Xenomorphs, wah wah!". We've already had like 6 movies and 5 videogames about Xenomorphs attacking humans, we've seen it already, theres not much else to explore there. This film just looks like a remake of Aliens, theres absolutely nothing new about this.

Ridley Scott was trying to expand the Aliens universe by introducing new races like the Engineers, the connection to human and Xenos. Possibly even adding new races down the line so that the Aliens franchise can be as rich and detailed as other expanded universes like Star Wars/Star Trek, but so much more grounded, realistic and dark.

I was looking forward to that but I feel like audiences and critics were too short sighted with Prometheus, so you all got what you wanted and the studio caved in due to Prometheus not having great results. Another movie focused on xenomorphs vs humans, more same old, no new ideas and the Aliens franchise doesn't grow and expand into bigger ideas.

I too was hoping for this movie to be a continuation and to explain the origins of the engineers and their agenda and to see their homeworld. I didn't care about seeing more action wit the xenomorphs unless it was required to make a believable storyline , and NOT just inserting them in the move for the sake of having them.

My criticism with Prometheus was some of the plot holes and absurdity.
