International Alexei Navalny died in prison.

He went all-in and thought he could still fold.

There are theories that FSB got to his family but i just think either guys under him were not feeling going for a wild suicide run or he himself lacked courage to do it

Is Navalny (2002) worth watching?

I think he only realised mid-way what he was doing and what the implications of that would be. The guy was under considerable stress for years, seeing a lot of his guys fall, and he was probably drinking heavy. Not in his most coherent state of mind.

The crazy thing is that it was such an unpredictable move that it could have even worked, had he gone through with it. Kremlin got caught pants down.

Yes.
"In June 2020, he spoke out in support of the Black Lives Matter protests against racism"

Also you do know he change over the years?
People are allowed to evolve.

I truly believe people can change. People do evolve indeed. I am willing to admit that perhaps my historic hatred, and indeed bias, against this guy probably skewers my openness to believe that a guy who was previously not against illegal imagination but immigration in its totality, allied himself not with conservatives but full blow neo Nazis perhaps, wouldn’t be the type to end up supporting BLM in his late 40s.

It’s a shame he remained silent when his comrades were being used to murder political dissidents and antifascists in Russia but I’m glad he changed and found his soul in time to support a american hash tag.

I dont understand why they have to talk in Russian over what Navalny says in Russian. I very much suspect it is doctored and taken out of context. I'd love the original video and hear what he actually says, not what someone says for him.

The guy who promoted and attended the Russian march, glorified the Biryulyovo race riots and formed a alliance with the great Russia movement said nice things about BLM?

I don't see why this is contradictory. He supported an organization of marxists who looked to spread racial hatred and discord in a nation he considered an enemy.

Much like Russia supposedly blowing up their own pipeline, Putin/Russia have nothing to gain by killing Navalny. Also, being in a siberian work camp is arguably worse than death. Why would Putin want to give him an easy way out.

One can only speculate what may have happened. Navalny was poisoned at one point not too long ago. That may have done permanent damage to his body. Maybe his heart gave out. Maybe someone on inside was paid off.by the west.

One thing is for certain. We know Putin isn't responsible.

Highly selective, but it IS true that Navalny started his career as a Russian nationalist with pretty right wing views (pro guns, anti immigration etc.). He changed over time, but now certain people (Putin supporters etc.) are exaggerating and distorting old quotes of his to smear him. That said, it is fair to say that, once upon a time, he was not too far from where someone like Igor Girkin is now - however, he died as a liberal democrat.

Summa sumarum: he was not a whiter than white hero, but people who paint him as some kind of facist are not only exaggerating; they are talking about who he was in 2007, not who he died as in 2024.

This article is a pretty good profile of his evolution :

The truth about his death is probably terribly mundane. A weakened body, that decides to go through a hunger strike and end up, in his own words "a skeleton", locked in cold concrete cells in a prison so remote past the Arctic Circle it doesn't even need that big of a fence, cause where would you run anyway. His body probably just gave up, it didn't even need someone to come and do the kill, especially when you're surrounded by people that don't give a shit about you. it's so mundane that i understand why most people won't believe it. the prison system in Russia is brutal, and a lot of people succumb to the conditions.

this obviously doesn't eliminate the blame on the people that got him there. i was expecting his protectors to protect him more, and for him to appear post 2030 as something of a bridge, a reconciliating actor. seems i overestimated his potential use.

We know no such thing. By all accounts, Navalny was fine two days ago. Then he suddenly drops dead while stuck in a prison controlled by the man who has already tried to kill him once - a man who is up for election during the most difficult time in his country's recent history and who might well want to send a message to anyone daring to oppose him. Furthermore, this man is known to hold grudges and has a history of his enemies dying from falls, poison, Russian suicide (aka gunshot wounds to the back of the head) and suddenly exploding aircraft.

That said, Navalny pissed off a lot of people with his exposes on corruption. There are a number of oligarchs and government figures with ruffled feathers who might want him gone... but the number one suspect has to be Vladimir Putin: motive, means and opportunity all point in his direction.

lol at people in this thread. elections are coming up and Putin is cleaning up opposition. only Navalny's death made it to SD, but Putin has been after everyone associate with Navalny for a long time - his family, his colleagues from the anti-corruption group, his lawyers. dont listen what Russian slaves tell you - Putin was scared shitless of what Navalny's corruption revelations could do. you dont come up with fake charges to put the guy away for many years if you are not afraid of him.

Sadly he isn't he manage to call Russia a paradise for people with western money in another thread...

Also damn... Imagine CIA being able to get inside a Russian gulag in Siberia and kill a person and do it the same day or the day before his wife speaks at a conference...
I mean is it time to be worried? How fucking good are the CIA ?!!?

Everyone knows that the most complex and complicated explanation is almost always the correct one.

For all the idiots claiming Russians are suffering losses in 10s of thousands, start using your damn brains.

It is not possible just by simply looking at the resources available for Ukraine to inflict such casualties .

Russia has 5x artillery shells advantage.
Wrong thread?

The timing is off. It's hurts Putin on the world stage. He would have obviously known that and clearly didn't do it.

Putin is not retarded like Joe Biden. He didn't have Navalny killed.

Everything Putin has done for the past 10 years has hurt him on the world stage.

It's pretty clear that the man doesn't give a shit.
