Media Alexander Gustafsson talks about his first JJ fight

he should have won that fight, but got worked in the rematch, so it is what it is.

At lest Jones eventually gave him one… unlike GSP who straight up quit after Hendricks slapped him around
then USADA came 'round and Hendricks fell off a cliff. nothing to be ashamed of in refusing a rematch to that.

One of my favorite fights of all time, & it can be argued that Gus won. I saw that fight live & it was truly a gift for the fans.

At that point of Jones' career, if you didn't knock Jones out, you weren't getting the belt. It was that simple.

If you want to see a truly egregious example of this, watch Jones/Reyes.

That should have been the end of Jones' championship run. Absolute highway robbery.

The funny thing is, if you actually do watch the fight, it's not at all hard to see why two judges each gave Jones rounds 2 and 3. It's only when you just watch the round highlights with Reyes throwing long combos (and missing almost all of his strikes, incidentally) that you can start convincing yourself Reyes should have won.

In the rematch, they had to move the event from Vegas to Los Angeles because Jones “picograms” couldn’t get cleared for Nevada’s anti-doping requirements. He needed the PEDs to beat Gus in their second bout. Jones is a cheat and will always be a cheat. He lost the first fight as clear as losing to Reyes.
It's been 7 years and you're somehow still so wrong. Amazing.

Nevada wanted more time to clear Jones instead of accepting USADA's ruling like they do in 99% of circumstances. However they also couldn't be bothered to call an emergency hearing and instead moronically scheduled it for after the event was set to occur. The UFC obviously couldn't continue without their main event so asked around for commissions that would accept USADA's ruling and CSAC had no problem with that so they moved the event there. As probably did multiple commissions but CSAC obviously made the most sense given how close it is to Nevada to quickly shift travel plans.

Then, and this will blow your mind, Jones actually DID have his NSAC hearing anyways after his fight. And they cleared him too. In fact they then had his next few fights there only months later against Smith and Santos. NSAC ultimately had zero problems with Jones.

Some fucking retard, who definitely got fired, lost the city millions because for the first time ever they didn't blindly accept a USADA ruling AND couldn't be bothered to have an emergency hearing over what was most definitely an emergency situation.
