Mediocre record? He lost to the 1, 2 and 3 ranked guys in the UFC LHW division and there are plenty that believed he beat Jones. Plus he came very close to beating DC. In fact it was DC's toughest fight outside of Jones. The loss to Rumble, well that could happen to anyone.

If he were to rematch with any of the 3, he has a decent chance of winning.

His loss to Phil Davis back in 2010 is no shame either. Davis has been a top 5 LHW forever.

Almost beating the greatest LHW of all time and going to a damn close split decision against Cormier, arguably the second best LHW of all time is not a negative on his resume.

So losing every major fight you had is a good resume.

Having No top 10 wins since Shogun 4 years ago isn't a good resume for an elite fighter.

If Gus was so great why is he getting gimme fights like Blacowicz (who outsruck him) or Lil Nog (who should be retired)? It's borderline can crushing

Going to skip the natty talk because no athlete serious about his career and earnings is going to compete clean.

Jones has some godlike genetics. That whole family are nothing but freaks. So take a guy who literally did little to no weight training, literally didn't train MMA aside from his fight camps and get him going to the gym 5 times a week powerlifting and doing various training regimens...You get a yoked ass Jones pretty fucking quickly.

Literally Jone's dad should have his ballsack insured.

Buddy.... lhw is incredibly shallow.

How about you name just one other fighter that came damn close to beating jones and cormier... just one. And fyi knocking down cormier doesn't qualify as dc beat the crap out of him.

No one has even come close in fights with cormier and jones, two of the best fighters in any weight class and gus nearly beat them.
 
He's got the same evolution as Shogun weigh in pics where everyone thinks he looks a little shredded or a little flabby but in reality always look identical to each other.

Who made it shallow? Jones and Rumble cleared the division. Gus won't even fight top competition in a shallow division.

That's how bad gus' resume is in regards to WINS.

No one remember almost winners. Gus fans still acting like soccer moms. Go give Gus a plastic participant trophy for his losses.

His main point is not that he's innocent. What he's implying is that there might be an asterisk attached to his loss to Jones, which you have to admit is a fair one.

Also, even though I basically suspect everyone, the USADA deflation effect is real and we see none of it on Gus, so there's at least that.

I don't see anyone on this forum stating Gus is an uncrowned champ. He's a good fighter who got beat by better fighters. You act like he smacked your GF around...

And yes LHW is damn shallow. Other than the top 3, who is exactly deserves a title shot? Glover? He is 3-3 in his last 6 and just got starched by Rumble. Bader? This seems to be possible given he is 7-3 in his last 10 but the guy ran 5 decision wins in a row and got KTFO by none other than Glover and Rumble in his last two losses. Anyone that thinks he has even a remote chance against DC is deluded... Manuwa and OSP are the only other two guys in the UFC top ten and one just knocked the other out.

Yep that is exactly what i am saying... ever since you are the answer guy here without any real answers, name a top 15 fighter that gus could have faced instead that wasn't booked for a fight, coming off a fight or on a medical suspension post fight, or that he had already beaten.

Go ahead, i will wait patiently for your answer..
