Media Alex Pereira with a message for all LHW’s

Will Poatan do well against UFC’s top-5 LHW fighters?

Ankalaev is probably the worst match up for Pereira but I think that weight might work better for him.
His style could be dangerous if Hill connects on him clean it could be trouble, as much people hate on Hill he does have decent power but I can see Pereira also KOing all top 5 LHWs with a good punch

Here's UFC rankings from their website:

1 JIŘÍ PROCHÁZKA
2 MAGOMED ANKALAEV
3 JAN BŁACHOWICZ
4 ALEKSANDAR RAKIĆ
5 ANTHONY SMITH

I think Poatan can beat any one of these dudes if he catches them early. I do think Jan and Ankalaev can grapplefook him though.
There is no way in hell they are letting Ankalaev anywhere near Poatan.

I see hill putting him away honestly, very diverse and unpredictable striker. Less traditional kick boxing skill than izzy but more power and he's very effective in mma. We've learned time and time again that great kickboxers can be destroyed by mma strikers. See rountree for details

I'm not even entirely sure why, but I feel like he's about to get done and dusted a few times and then wash out. That last KO was bad, he needs time off for one thing and he needs to take a page from Jones and get his body ready for 205 the right way. He's not going to do that because he wants to ride the hype train. I don't see his style holding up, guys are going to be a lot less scared of him now.

Pereira is old, 36 in July. Average age of a LHW winning the title is 30.5 years old. Pereira's run is winding down; age catches everyone.

Its not the most historically strong time for LHW, no DC, Jones, Rumble, etc.

Imagine if he goes up and gets a belt at LHW.
He could be two division champ in glory and then 2 division champ in the UFC. Something Izzy wasn't able to do.

Ankalaev and Krylov are his worst match-ups. Jan to a lesser extent. However they all prefer to stand so yeah Alex has quite a decent chance to shine at LHW. I do not think they will ever match him up with well rounded figthers (unless he becomes champ and and there will be no other option). They will try to squeeze as much as possible from his success because he is such an unique fighter who brings a lot of excitement. Quite sure they want to make Izzy Alex 3 for the title at LHW. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't think Izzy is "scared", just wants it for the title at LHW. All in for more money this way

I just copied and pasted from the UFC website on my phone, I think Sherdog just lets you copy the hyperlinks. I'm not super tech-savvy, so I'll leave it to my more tech-savvy Sherbros/Shergals to explain the details.

In your reply, you simply type the customized word that you would like to display for the link. Highlight the word, and then click the "Link" button and paste the link. That should get you what you are looking for!
Thanks guys

He won't do as good in LHW and that's simply just the reason he cut a lot of weight to fight at MW to begin with...

Glover would’ve beaten Hill if he was 1000 years old. He was clearly close to retirement and he knew it.

Well, Alex has a win over freaking Artem Vakhitov at LHW in kickboxing, and he also knocked Donegi Abena out-cold, who’s the current GLORY LHW-champion now.
To say Pereira simply just can’t do good at 205 is ridiculous

I agree with you and Ankalaev is probably the best grappler in the division. The thing is though Ankalaev likes to stand and bang sometimes.

I think he'll do OK at LHW but his chin is a concern. He went out out and it didn't really seem like the hardest shot. He also got rocked int the first fight.

Now he's moving up and will be dealing with even more powerful guys. I guess we'll see but he might be a glass cannon like Reem.

We may all agree here that we want to watch him fight. Direct tittle shot.
