I feel like Israel gets so much disrespect. Alex landed one punch and now he's Israel's kryptonite? If would be different if he just outclassed Israel and showed he was a superior striker, but that did not happen. He does have power, but I doubt he hits harder than Polish Power Jan and he couldn't knock Israel out. I believe Israel is the better striker, but Alex has the power advantage. That does not mean that Israel can't knock Alex out. I believe Israel has a better chance at getting a finish than Alex based on skillset.

I'm not saying Izy is a joke standing. He's arguably the best striker second to Alex. I suspect he's played it safe and all the theatrics has atrophied his killer instinct. He has the judges in his pocket. Alex needs to KO him or he will get a highway robbery.

I don't think Izy packs as big a punch. He's super accurate but he's getting complacent.

I understand that fans want a fighter to walk straight into a knockout, but that's a way to have a short career. Romero is a legit threat to anyone he fights. Israel knocked out a dangerous fighter after fighting Romero. Alex knocked Sean out with a basic punch because Sean had shit defense. It's gonna be a fight and the truth will be known soon.

You said it was his signature left hook and that is a basic punch. He landed it, but that does not make it special. It's not the punch that is special, but how you set it up that allows you to land it. He has power, but if he was a god level striker like some are saying then he would have finished Bruno. That was a very competitive fight and Bruno is not the striker that Israel is.

The wrestling/Grappling aspects of this fight are exaggerated.

Izzy was touching him up in the last fight. I think the smaller gloves favor the man who lands more often, plus Adesanya should have a clear grappling advantage having done it for 5x the amount of time.

Also most of Izzy's defense is based on head movement and footwork, he isn't really a shell up cover up kind of striker, doesn't rely heavily on parries , prefers to evade.

Alex absolutely can KO him, and his left hook is fucking nasty, very crisp, he doesn't telegraph it, his motion can be compact or he can put some range on it. He is dangerous. And he absolutely has a power advantage.


Izzy would be wise to hit an early takedown, and at least put a little doubt into Alex's head about the TD threat.

Alex has been training with Glover for years, I'm sure his TDD will hold up just fine against someone like Izzy.

He is pretty new on the ground. You can watch his training videos. I was just surprised how Strickland decided to stand with him after seeing those training videos.
