Immediately after Pereira’s title winning performance, he was congratulated by the UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev, but as part of the tributing post
‘Borz’ told Pereira it's also a good timing for them to settle their unfinished business, as they were linked to fight several times in 2024.

However, following Chimaev’s shock callout after the brutal 'Poatan' finish, Pereira decided to make clear that he is only interested in one thing at this stage.

“Thanks for congratulating me but all I want is a super fight, and I want that fight at heavyweight - but all I can say is thank you,” Pereira replied.

Following a win, the 38-year-old revealed how he had a long callout for especially Jon Jones planned, but following the passing of his brother, Arthur Jones, the Brazilian
decided to instead pay his respects to the family with a moment of silence.

Dana White knows but says he has a hard time understanding where this specific alignment comes from, this late in the martial arts career of Pereira:

“I don’t know. There is still fights here in this division, but we’ll see..."

“Why I'm not too keen on it? Probably that he was a middleweight and he’s going to jump up TWO weight classes in the UFC,” White explained further.

“It’s not like jumping up two weight classes in boxing here. It’s a big jump. I just don’t see, unless he wants to retire, why throwing him in at heavyweight now makes any sense?"

Den Waitch wants his cash cow to stay at LHW and KO a few more guys. I really don't care to see the Ulberger fight. Dude isn't a name yet and it does nothing for Poatan's legacy. Let him cook at HW.

Khamzat needs to focus on defending his MW title. No one wants to see him lay on Poatan.

Pereira clearly has a heavyweight frame. He is bigger than multiple past heavyweight champs. Let him fight.

Regarding Chimaev: that would be a crazy fight to see which fighter could impose on the other - Chimaev with his grappling or Pereira with his striking. And it could be done at LHW.

I don’t care what you guys say, Alex is not a middle weight.
He should be fighting guys at LHW.

If Alex Pereira wants to fight Jon Jones at the white house for his final fight, why the fuck not?

He has pretty much cleaned out LHW at this point, I mean there is actually talk of his fighting a guy he beat by dominant ko TWICE .... again.

If he vacated we get Jiri vs Ulberg for the belt. I dig it.

I like this.. gives new blood a chance at the belt and gives the UFC a gigantic HW fight

I get why Dana is hesitant. 205 is shallow as fuck as it is. Without Chama it goes back to being a complete joke.

I think Alex would be OK at HW. Wouldn't love his chances against the top 5 but he'd reck the rest of them.

I mean with the exception of the newcomer and currently undeserving ulberg, poatan basically cleaned out the lhw division already. He should vacate and chase that hw bag and 3rd belt

Poatan can do it

I think Jiri would love that. He wants to fight for the title but he wants nothing to do with Chama

Alex seems motivated by seeking out bigger challenges -- especially noting his cross-over to the UFC and collecting Belts.

I don't blame him for wanting to climb higher mountains.

Chama is good business for the UFC.

Dana: there's still fights at 205

<cruzshake>

Nah.

Not really dude.

There's Jiri who Poatan smoked twice.

And Ulberg who hasn't faced the top guys yet and has built his run on old shot guys like 42 year old Jan and "had a close lost to Jon Jones 5 years ago Reyes"

Pereria v Bones or Aspinall at WH1 is the next fight.

Perereia is not a MW nor was he ever he was one to fight Izzy. Hes got same frame as a JDS or Stipe.

I would love to see Pereira at HW. He can bang with the big boys.

Because Jones is a deplorable that can't be trusted. Dana won't risk putting negative press on his buddy Trump's card.

Here’s a list of Jon Jones’ arrests by year:
  1. 2012 – Arrested for DUI (Driving Under the Influence) in Binghamton, New York.
  2. 2015 – Arrested for a hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
  3. 2016 – Arrested for drag racing and reckless driving in Albuquerque.
  4. 2020 – Arrested for aggravated DWI (driving while intoxicated) and negligent use of a firearm in Albuquerque.
  5. 2021 – Arrested for domestic violence (for allegedly grabbing his partner by the hair) and tampering with a vehicle in Las Vegas.

^^ This excludes his current nutty case with the naked drunk woman in his car.

Dana will book reliable headliners that will show up without controversy.
