Alex Pereira offically added to 268 prelims

You guys don’t think Izzy has surpassed this guy? Yeah he beat him once and KO him once, but Izzy was young and Izzy has trained his ass off for a long time. This is izzys game and pereira, if he can even make it to a title shot, this isn’t the same Izzy. Alex should have stepped in to fight wack job Strickland and see where he is really at.
Alex Pereira would kill Strickland. He may lose against a wrestler, but a guy like Strickland is in big trouble. Not sure if he beats Israel, but should be pretty close

not so long ago he was arguably the number 1 p4p Kickboxer in the world. He has also been training with Glover Teixeira for a while, pretty excited to see him in the UFC

Yup. He tried to play that elusive matrix game and still lost 2 rds to 1 from a guy head hunting with one big shot cause he already knocked him out before. Wilnis and filp verlinden both proved izzy doesn't like the pressure game. Let him do his flashy flash while have a high guard, then pressure him. That style is not meant for kickboxing.

Oh and you want to go the casual route. Both guys went for 2 different weight division champs... who also won that battle? Izzy probably beats him in mma, but in kickboxing, he didn't reach that level. And only a casual would think otherwise.....
so, you did not watch it

I wonder if they're going to give him an easy path to a title shot?

<TheWire1>

Looking at the 185 division, it should be.

If he wins on Saturday is glorious style he'll be given someone in the Top #10-6, then the Top #5, and then a title shot against Israel.

He's 34, which isn't the best age for someone to have their first fight in the UFC with title aspirations.

He absolutely should be fast-tracked to a title shot IF his performances meet the hype of 'The Man Who KOed Israel.'

Damn... he has some power.

if he beats this guy give him strickland and then TS

if he beats this guy give him strickland and then TS

It all depends on HOW he beats them.

If he wins by glorious KOs, then hell yes streamline his way to a title shot.

If he plays point-fighter, then no have him run up the ranks slowly.

quick someone post the gif of izzy getting knocked out in a fight he was handidly winning as proof that he can beat israel in mma or even get close enough to GET a titleshot!
I agree with the second part. But he beat Adesanya twice not once.

Pereira is 3-1 in his professional MMA career so far. 'Poatan'
will make his UFC debut against Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268 on November 6.
The pay-per-view will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Yup. I watched the guy who landed the harder and more damaging shots win. Just like izzy vs wilnis, yet some idiots think he won that as well
He only Koed Israel once. First fight was a decision win. Second fight he (Alex), was losing it on points and almost got stopped before landing the KO. He has 2 fair wins, people are just saying they don't show that Alex's striking is way above Israel's, it shows they are close. I think with the smaller gloves Israel takes it. he relies less on high guard.

it doesn't even look powerful or with a big body movement .. how

I was thinking the exact same. It's like he has an iron left hand in that glove. I did notice he is about as accurate as you can get with his shots and throws them with a swooping upwards angle so his opponents hardly see them coming. Mix in that knee to the mid section and he's almost impossible to time between shots.

He is 34 and from Brazil. A market the ufc already collected.
They want him nowhere near their 32 year old champ from down under + Africa

Who?
If this is the guy who KO'd Isreal 6 or whatever years ago, don't we all know how this will end???
He ain't SNIFFING Isreal, he'll win his 1st fight, then get TKO'd his next 3 and he'll never be remembered again. Gotta try something new guys, shits getting old quick.
Yeah, why would the ufc even bother signing exciting strikers? We need more college wrestlers

you cant beat someone once, two times. he's 0-2 against Alex. That's called twice.
Beat him once and KO him once. Yes technically beat him 2x, was just emphasizing the KO. But I’m sure you knew that, you just wanted to point that out so you could feel intellectually superior to a random stranger on a karate forum. Grats.

Althought it is cute to read back and forth between Izzy haters and Izzy fanboys.....
Anyone know more about Michailidis?
I don't think I saw him fighting. Is he tailored made to lose to Pereira?

Kickboxing, boxing, MMA, BJJ, etc. are all combat sports, but success in one doesn't predict success in others.
