Rumored Alex Pereira and the UFC in a contract dispute?

The UFC is in a very, very, VERY "what have you done for me lately" driven business.

Forget what you did in 2024. As of right now to the UFC he's on a 1 fight losing streak and will be treated accordingly.

His best bet is to ask for a 1-fight contract to fight Ankalaev with PPV points and hope he wins. Then maybe he can negotiate a new contract if he's the champ again.
You should take the time to look up the Eddie Alverez UFC contract that became public after the lawsuit.

There's a champions clause that will automatically give the UFC more fights on the existing deal if you win a belt.

Also, he signed an 8 fight contract for ufc 300 and is getting 1-4m per fight (rumored). He's already getting more points than everyone not named Jon Jones.

This is true. The champion's clause is real.

You're also right about Pereira salary. It's roughly $2.7to $3M per fight, give or take:

HOWEVER, once Pereira is no longer champion, things can change. He might not qualify for PPV points anymore. But fighters also have to sign bout agreements, which is where they can negotiate these things. The UFC might have been trying to deny him PPV points in the bout agreement.

Contracts can also be extended. He might be trying to extend his contract by 4 fights.

Unless he was truly hacked, the UFC have tried to screw him over somehow. Exactly how, we won't ever know.

Dana and the UFC have already shown that they're insanely greedy and horrible people, but they really aren't willing to pay Alex what he's worth? One of the only popular fighters? Maybe UFC and CO need more mega yachts and mansions and sports cars to add to their collection, need to save money.

But seriously, fuck them if this is what they're doing, just shitty people.

His value to them is pretty heavily diminished now tbh. They milked it pretty well though with stuff like the Khalil fight. Never would have thought they'd have gotten 3 years of good business out of an inexperienced kickboxer in his mid 30s.

I'm guessing he wants PPV points still despite not being champ

You'd think they'd work with the guy given all he's done for them.
The UFC is just a pimp that extorts their fighters. Its always been terrible people running the show.
