"Alex is such a big guy" Can we stop this narrative?

There was a thread on sherdog about it. Maybe you can google it.
Because that doesn't sound right, September when they were both getting read for training camp. Poatan 226lbs, Israel was 215lbs. fight week Israel was 207lbs. I think the narrative that Israel is small is a bunch of cope from his fans. I don't believe the difference in weight was 20#. There weight is a lot closer that many are spewing on this site.

Yup and in this video he still looks drained from the weight cut. He was bigger in the actual fight.

Yeah, big difference between 3 hours of rehydrating and more than 24 hours. What is it like 36 hours or something?

Neither one of them are cheaters. They are both big MWs, Alex being the larger of the two. I don’t mind people saying this, but the sanctioned cheater BS that Rogan mentioned is too much. Wrestlers have been doing it for years and now a striker is able to do it better than them, it’s a problem…

You didn’t actually listen to what Rogan said did you. He never singled out Poatan for criticism, he said the act itself is like sanctioned cheating.

I did listen to it. There’s no such thing as sanctioned cheating. It’s unfair to make a statement like that because it paints the fighter as a cheater. What if you and your wife were both boxers and light spar from time to time and someone says you are a sanctioned domestic abuser. Just sounds fucking dumb all over.

Rogan is insecure about his height and has a crush on Izzy because of Izzy’s expression of his effeminate side, so he takes it out on Alex

is normal
How is Rogan insecure about his height? Its sherdoggers who are insecure about it lol

Why would you need to stop people pointing out what's demonstrably true? I mean he obviously is a huge MW, and will be for as long he fights there, so it's something to consider for any of his future matchups.

Nah, he actually told people not to believe their lying eyes, and being clearly bigger doesn't mean he's bigger.
Who you gonna believe? Me or your own eyes??

Sherdog hates Rogan so much because he's all of Sherdog's insecurities wrapped up into one, but he isn't neurotic about it like Shertards would be/are.

He's short and bald. Sherdog is obsessed with height and hairlines. They think Rogan should be crying somewhere and afraid to show himself in public, but he's confident and rich and successful despite being short and bald. He's the antithesis to what Sherdog believes in.

Maybe you should learn about who you're speaking to before trying to insult them huh
You've shown that you don't respond well to people criticizing Alex Pereria. Either he is your hero or you have some weird emotional connection to him.

TS, you, and other members want us to blatantly look away from his size advantages which is ironic considering everyone gave Adesanya the same shit for his success (I was also throwing the same shade) in the UFC.

Where was this energy from the Adesanya fanbois when he sparked Costa?

Funny how the narrative changed and excuses flow when your skinny got beat.

That was what waa left of his killer instincts. The aftermath antics made me pull against izy. Mma would rage if Alex did something cringe after the ko.

Most are neck beards living in their mom's basement wearing a helmet.

Rogan is awesome though extremely biased in mma commentary. Overall, Rogan is great.

Don't let neck beards wind you up.

I mean he is fucking enormous. It’s not cheating, but it is true. He might be one of the biggest guys I’ve ever seen compared to other guys in his weight
I think he absolutely is the biggest fighter of all time relative to his weightclass.

Both Alex and Izzy have similar height and reach.

Alex was the bigger stronger guy. Izzy was the smaller but faster/more agile guy.

Speed kills, and we saw that Izzy almost took out Alex in the first round.

Hey guys can we all collectively just stop mentioning facts that I don't like? Thanks.
Thanks, you saved me years of "political discussion" reading with your post. It's a good summary.

Its not about Alex ya goof.
Its about the fact that everyone cuts weight, its a part of the sport like it or not.

Genetic differences are part of the essence of the sport, there's not just skill etc. If he's able to make weight without finishing in the hospital, that's just how he's made, even if it's a big advantage. Just like Ngannou's strength, he 1HKOs HWs, when Gane, who's an extremely athletic HW, highly skilled striker, needs to patiently dismantle his opponents (he obviously could KO nearly anyone cold if he was swinging wildly, but that's a shitty fight plan for a lighter guy). May be unfair, but that's how it is.
Ciryl gave nearly 20 pounds to Tuivasa, weighing in at 247, same weight vs Francis (who was at 257 for that fight).
I know HW is a kinda special division, with the wide range between lower and upper limits, but there's still room for smaller fighters to do something, in any division.

Yeah around that cause the weigh in is pretty early in the morning.
