Just recently free soloed the Taipei 101 building in Tawain and had previously free solo'd El Capitain in Yosemite National Park. Many say himself included that El Cap was harder but they are both equally as crazy and dangerous.
The dude is Fearless. Free solo means no ropes no safety gear other than chalk on the hands. You fall you die.

Alain Robert is another OG free solo climber (The French Spiderman) one of the first he is amazing too and has climbed over 100 hundred Skyscrappers.

Thoughts on free soloing and would you do it?

Alex Honnold is an absolute living legend. He’s amazing.

Would I ever free solo? Sure, if I had stage 4 cancer and was terminal with like a week to live. But if I was that sick I’d probably pass out within minutes of the attempt and the question is whether I fell from a height that would kill me or just injure me.

I get a smile on my face whenevernI see his name. He's really living on the edge!

You can't say his feat is unimpressive. Never watched any of his stuff besides the 101 video though. I get the willies just thinking about it, so that's a no for me dawg.

His Free Solo documentary is much more compelling than the 101 stuff. You should give it a watch.

It gives a ton of insight into the kind of person he is, which is largely what made him explode. He’s a very interesting and likable guy.

Crazy to think about someone doing something like that with their life.

I wouldn't have the courage to do something like that, but at the same time I've always dreamed of being a big wave surfer in life. Which isn't exactly living life on the safety zone.

I think if you have a genuine passion for something like this then you'll risk certain death to do it.I don't really believe someone can be turned into something they're not.

He's very smart and trains and practices with ropes until he feels super comfortable. I don't think he got a lot of practice on the building but he did some practicing with ropes. Although he said he went up El Cap about 50 times with ropes before he actually free solo'd it. He is super prepared mentally and physically.

I love this guy. I just hope he never has something go wrong. Can we design a mini parachute that will give him a chance if things go badly?

He's A+ Athlete. Incredible.
