Media Aldo was scumbagged by UFC

Such a shit way to end his career (not his fault.) Arguably won his last 3 fights including the current champ although the Merab fight I might be bias considering he should have gotten a title shot, yet they give it to Dillashaw and gave him Merab at high altitude which was BS. Then you factor in Dillashaw coming off a fight many thought he lost and went in knowing he had a major injury. Sad to see him go out like this because I still believe he is still a top guy in his diminished form just had card stacked up against him.
That Dillashaw fight was a sham, at a certain point that guy knew he was basically cashing it in with no hope. Ridiculously injured and that was after the long break from barely scraping by Sandhagen injured.

Aldo stopped everything Merab threw at him, it's a shame he couldn't land a little bit more strikes in between. The rules are a little skewed towards wrestlers for that reason, how can Aldo land strikes in between constantly fending off takedowns? Essentially there is no room to land and offense when someone spams. Whatever, even in a loss that shows how high level Aldo's anti wrestling was and I was more impressed with him at the end of it.

If it weren't for the UFC scumbaggery, it would be much more clear to the fans that Aldo is the goat.

They never got over him bitching about the UFC not doing enough to promote him years ago.
For all the shit that Nina Drama woman gets from people on here, her interviews with Jose Aldo is by far the best interviews when it comes to showing Aldo’s charisma and likeability. Only downfall to Aldo is he took a while to be confident in his English and it doesn’t help he kept to himself. The promotion for his bout with Mcgregor, they showed him almost no respect.

Nah. He literally had a USADA agent arrested in Brasil because he didnt want to take a piss test. Aldo was the scumbag.

the UFC has always done it, but the most blatant disrespect EVER by the UFC, to the fans, to the fighters, to the champions, to everyone along the way, was that anothny fucking smith montage video. that is the biggest slap in the face, that they do not care about the customer OR the actual integrity of the sport they fake to uphold.

Pretty much. You can't fault the UFC for not making you some sort of retirement montage if they don't know you're retiring.

{<shrug}
The UFC should always have premade fighter montages in case of spur of the moment retirements! That’s the least they could do!

Okay, but UFC already did a montage for Aldo in 2023 when they inducted him into the HOF during the 283 broadcast. This sentiment UFC is just discarding Jose is a little silly.

The UFC has fucked up so many late career veterans in mma. Part of me thinks that Aldo was serious about a title run so UFC gave him tough guys, like "okay, are you ready to get a title again beat these guys", but another part makes me think UFC is just feeding the young guys established names because it's better business.

There's so many legend fights Aldo could've made before going. Either established big names or guys like him at the end of their career.

I'd much rather this option in general for all older fighters, don't like them fighting young guys. One of many examples when Koscheck beat up Matt Hughes, even Josh didn't seem to like it.

Craziest shit was Lionheart getting a five minute sendoff montage for retirement while Aldo got nothing.
This... yeah, that was fucked up. I mean, maybe the UFC didn't see it coming and will do a HOF kind of thing in future but yea, was sad to see for an all time great.

The way U FIGHT CHEAP sent off Anthony Smith and the way they sent off Aldo tells you everything you need to know about the organization. I hope it fookin days.
