Its about time that the UFC has done something at least partially correct. This fight being for the interim title is also great and just makes sense.

1) Aldo deserved his instant rematch title shot with Conor. They didn't give it to Aldo so he will have to go through Edgar in order to get it and he will. The Conor fans do not like this as they don't want to see Aldo getting his rematch ever.

2) Frankie doesn't deserve another gifted title shot and is a habitual line stepper anyways.

3) But I highly doubt that Conor will ever fight at 145 again as he was severely cutting in order to make that weight. Conor is a true 170lber and should be in that division. If Aldo wins then Conor will definitely NEVER come back to 145 as he doesn't want to give Aldo his rematch.

4) This fight gives Aldo a clear shot to his rematch with Conor despite Conor trying at all costs to avoid giving Aldo his rematch.

5) All true fight fans should love the rematch between Aldo vs Edgar as they said Aldo needed to take another fight before getting Conor.....well he is and he will beat Edgar.

The fight makes a lot of sense. The next fight vs Conor will be huge especially if Conor can beat Nate... which hey btw is a great fight

They both turned down the fight with Conor so now they fight each other.

Frankie definitely gets a lot of presents. It's about time hes forced to earn that shot.

For me this is the main event.

I definitely agree that it does. I don't think Conor should be instantly rematching Diaz considering the lopsided mismatch that it is. But the UFC gonna UFC.

Conor should have been fighting Aldo at UFC 200.

:D I wanted to use this phrase in a thread about Jones. I can agree with some of what your saying TS. ^5

Blah,blah,blah,blah.....the fight wouldn't have been at 145 nor was it for the belt if I remember correctly.

Only one of those two has earned the title shot against Conor. I'll give you a hint...it's the guy that wasn't KO'd in 13 seconds

was there a Championship Clause? Seems like everyone else gets rematches why not the long standing undefeated (UFC) champ? UFC told him he would get a rematch...

Frankie earned a shot at the title too, but he just lost to Aldo in a title fight so there is that.

Im not opposed to this fight and I think its a good compromise since the FW champ wont defend his belt.

lol. Conor a true WW. Diaz towers over him and he's a LW.
I guess Gunnar Nelson is a huge WW according to your logic.

How ironic. Aldo supporter and the word "excuses" lol! He's the king of excuses
When he's not pulling out he's turning them down
Edgar was not scheduled to fight and had surgery. If he was given his shot when he should of got it instead of having to wait for Conor to lose to Dos Anjos he would of been ready to go.
