Aldo to be cut?

Ehhh. He did decent enough against Yan and I thought he beat Marlon who is one of the best in the division. This fight we will really see where Jose is at. Nothing against Vera but this is a fight that Jose would typically finish or dominate. If he can't get past him that shows he's not at the top of the division anymore. Tony might be in a similar situation but I think a lot of people are discrediting Charles for his previous losses instead of acknowledging that he's made a lot of improvements and is one of the best

people are talking about Tony getting cut after two losses but what about Jose Aldo he has three losses in a row possibly for will he be cut?

He would have beaten the current BW champ in a 3-round fight.

Outside of the conor fight who has outclassed Jose - even that was just more about Aldo getting mind fucked in to being overly emotional and running in chin first.

Tony has been outclassed 2 times now and a few of his biggest wins were because of "accidental" fouls that changed the momentum of his fights he was losing.

He has a fight booked and even if he loses that one, I still don't think he is on the chopping block.

Ummm no. Those are your words. What I am saying is, like Aldo - Yoel "only lost to elite fighters and has been very competitive in most of those losses." I don't expect Aldo to be cut, but it was very surprising to see Yoel get cut too for the above quoted reasons.

Still, I don´t see how they are both in an equivalent position. But it is obvious that Aldo is in this last chapters as a mma fighter. Don´t know how many fights are still in his contract, but I would like to see him beating Chito and hanging the gloves, tbh

Neither Tony nor Aldo are getting cut. Even if they are past their prime, I suspect the UFC will use them at the very least to put over young up and comers.

Besides, both are entertaining fighters and with the exception of Tony's last fight they put on competitive performances every time they fight.

Aldo looked good in the Yan fight, but I'm tired hearing that he was winning 3 first rounds.

Idk who on his team came up with the brilliant idea for a fighter who is no longer in his prime in the lower weight classes where speed, quickness & reaction time are a necessity to drop down another weight class where the fighters are even faster while Aldo is declining in those three areas.

I would like Jose to get another W as well. I thought he should have gotten the win v Moraes as well. would HATE to see Aldo get cut, but man, when they dump a fighter as popular as Gay Jesus, is anyone posting losses safe? When were the words "loyalty" and "UFC" used in the same sentence? Dunno what Jose gets paid, but *I've heard* that Yoel was pricey. A factor? Dunno. Always rooting for Jose tho.

But they were in title fights. And he coasted through 90% of the fights he arguably won. He's had 3 title fights and a #1 contender fight in his last 4, lost them all and didn't make weight for one of those title fights and is in his mid 40s.

What are they supposed to do, keep him around? They sure as hell can't give him another title fight, and he's still dangerous enough to knock out contenders.

It was just good business getting rid of Yoel. Aldo has only lost two fights and is now down at a new weight class where he can arguably go for another belt run. He puts on exciting fights every fight these days (that boring run he was having as champ is over), he's only 34 and he's always fighting to finish guys.

It’s hard to forget the Holloway fights tbh and I really respect Aldo.
