How's life?
Well, first off, you've got to accept what happens, it's a part of the sport. Any athlete's life, any fighter's life is made out of victories and defeats. We felt a bitter taste. I hope I don't go through all of this anytime soon, but I got over it, I'm back to my training routine because our lives can never stop.
How are you feeling physically?
Pretty good. But I'm not in fight shape, I'm not even training right now. I'm starting it next Saturday, so I can prepare my body to be back in a near future.
Are you feeling anxious about coming back?
I can't wait to fight again. I want to avenge this loss. The whole country was sad with this, but mark my words, good times are coming. I just need to get another fight scheduled, get in there and win.
Do you have any news on your next fight?
Dana said things would get cleared out after the March 5th event. So right after it, I'm getting back to an intense training routine, since we're about to have an answer. I'm calm, relax. I'm just waiting for my time to come.
Do you have any preference on any possible opponent?
Whoever they put in front of me. I want to fight for the belt, so that's what matters. I think I deserve it and that's what I'm waiting for.
Would it be better if your opponent was Conor McGregor?
Obviously. There's no way I'm not getting this rematch, because everyone else had one. It depends on the result of his next fight. I don't pick opponents, but if I could pick one, it would obviously be McGregor, especially for the belt. I have to take the belt from him, it would be great. I'm not the one calling the shots, so I want to get my belt back as soon as possible.
Will you watch Diaz vs. McGregor?
Not at all, that's not even a fight. During my life, I've learned about respect and it doesn't exist between the two of them. Some people like this kind of bullshit. I don't watch fights, actually. I'd rather watch other sports. I love football, basketball, I go to soccer stadiums. It's not only this fight I'm not watching. Besides, it's late as hell. I don't interact with fights this way if they have nothing to do with my own weight class.
What did you think about the decision of Silva vs. Bisping?
I wasn't able to watch it. I was told Anderson won the fight. But it happens, he's fighting in a foreign country, there's the judges... if you don't win in a dominant fashion, it might happen.
Did you talk to McGregor after your fight?
I did not and I don't want to.
How do you feel about him?
I feel nothing. He's a clown, that's what he does. I'm just sad because all of this bullshit. And it's not only me, the other athletes feel like this as well.
Is it true that you made 5 million dollars with that fight?
I don't know where people got that from. I've made nothing like it. If I had, I'd be smiling right now. First off, everytime a Brazilian who lives in Brazil fights in the US, they take 30% of your purse, plus 20% for your manager, and there's also the Athletic Commission share. If it was really 5 mi, they haven't paid me everything yet.

P.S. About the contradictions on what he says: he really did it that way. It's not an Ed Soares translation style or anything. Aldo's a weird guy to say the least.
Edit: Now I've seen thay my thread title first said "bullsh*t". Maybe an admin has changed it now, so I think that wasn't allowed. I apologise for that.
