Since USADA:

- Aldo got emotional against Conor and got knocked out, had nothing to do with USADA
- Absolutely outclassed Frankie Edgar who was on the best run of his career. Arguably Aldo's most masterful performance
- Looked great against Holloway twice before Max's titanium chin and cardio let him hang in there and beat Aldo in a war of attrition

This myth that Jose was on PEDs before USADA has zero basis in truth, and in my opinion Jose would still beat anyone at FW not named Max. His chin is not as good as it was in his prime, but he showed tonight that it is still good enough to withstand clean punches from one of the hardest hitters in the division. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Aldo reclaim the belt after Max is inevitably forced up to 155.

Fuck the haters!

Aldo is the GOAT and back finishing fights.

Aldo is the greatest Brazilian fighter of all time.

I remembered those comments the moment aldo finished Jeremy. Makes the win that much sweeter.

Ironic that Stephens came out with those smug comments only to give Aldo his first finish win since 2013

Aldo til the end.

I'm a huge Aldo fan but I'm pretty sure he was on something. He had even more output in the mendes 2 fight and was more muscled yet had way better cardio and wasn't completely gassed by round 3. I don't think it's a big deal if he was pre usada, imo almost everyone was on something.

LOL Aldo kicks hard....his hands are suspect and he has shit cardio. He had a good win tonight through.

"his hands are supect"

--> just finished Stephens with a body punch

"has shit cardio"

--> dominated Frankie Edgar for 5 rounds

I’ve been saying this going into this fight. Aldo hasn’t really fallen off that much, Max is just that good. Aldo still beats anyone in the division not named Max. Yes, including Ortega.

Ppl here always quick to to say non-Murricans arent the same post USADA

Good to see his hands actually got better....this is only one fight and to be honest Jeremy probably wasnt even worried about his hands because his hands are usually pretty shit. Unfortunately that was a mistake tonight.

Some fighters just have other fighters number, that's the case with Holloway/Aldo IMO. Match them up 10 times and Aldo is lucky if he wins 1

It’s hard to say if he was or not...

He’s definitely not performing as well as back then (he’s only 32 now) and it’s well known that Brazilian fighters all took something back in the day.

By looking at his past physique and performance I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

Regardless, I’m sure plenty of fighters were using something back in the day so I don’t think it really takes anything away from Jose, he has never failed a drug test.

I disagree. Aldo has a better resume in my opinion.
i agree. and hes not done yet. imagine if he adds a guy like ortega or even moicano/zabit. he'll have the old guard and new guard

To be fair he had been putting in work with Mikey G for the past year, a P4P top boxer.

The first Edgar fight was close, but Aldo won it. In the second fight, he figured out Edgar's timing and he is a little faster. He was able to time knees up the middle against Frankie when he setting up TDs, essentially shutting down Frankie's game. Frankie couldn't land really, so he was not working at Frankie's pace because Aldo was dictating the fiht.

Nonetheless, Aldo is still in GOAT contention and is a legend of the sport.

its a myth created by salty contenders, McGregor fans, and Rogan. He's looked the same since the start of his career and the natural drop off in ability is normal. Fuck Rogan
