AJ Agazarm loses debut

aj still has more medals
I hope we can agree that the point is they're both douchenozzles and neither is a true world-class talent? (AJ totally lucked into his ADCC medal. His draw put him up against a sixteen year old blue belt, a purple belt, and Pablo Mantovani.)

Oh yea, still aj is the annoying guy with more medals than dd

Maybe he walked on? We had a few walk-ons at Rutgers. If you wrestled a bit and were tough and scrappy, a lot of D1 teams will have you around. He is tough and scrappy and a decent jiu-jistu guy and wrestler. He is not a world-class talent in any way, but I respect his achievements and visibility. I hear he's more humble in a non-competitive setting. People with better skills make less of a living and are relative unknowns, so good for him.

Any of you guys familiar with his wrestling background? He wound up spending a few seasons on the roster of NCAA DI powerhouse Ohio State but never started and as far as I can tell, he didn't actually wrestle all that much.

Im sure being in that room for a few seasons made him a pretty good wrestler but Im curious how it is he wound up on the team in the 1st place. I cant find anything about any significant high school accolades other than already being a good Bjj guy.

He walked on. How many guys sould take the pounding of the ohio state wrestling room? He is one tough sob

He's not 40. From an interview September 2015:

"I travel so much because I don’t want to be like 35 years of age and look back and think “that was it man”. "

Secondly that wrestling record can't be correct either, unless he graduated 2017. His record wouldn't be surprising though, I can't be the only one thats watched him shoot the same low single from a mile out with zero success thinking "damn thats some shitty wrestling for a former D1 guy".

In mma, that sad type of low single is the wrestler’s equivalent of butt flopping.

Interesting. Maybe we have it all wrong due to name confusion. A bit of research shows the AJ we all know has a younger brother Anthony, middle initial also J.

Anthony was also a wrestler at OSU, and is the right age to be the one whose record we pulled.

He's also in deep shit for beating up some guy in a street fight, which resulted in his being kicked off the wrestling team in 2017.

"The victim, who was beaten so severely that part of his face was crushed, now has a combination of titanium and screws holding his face together after a few facial reconstructive surgeries.

Anthony J. Agazarm, 22, was an Ohio State University wrestler at the time of the attack and is listed as a business administration major. A native of a Palm Harbor, Florida, Agazarm was convicted of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, which means he could face up to eight years in prison."

He went to jail for 180 days, where he proved to have just as big and unfiltered of a mouth as his brother.

“So I’m an a------, huh?” Serrott asked Agazarm. “The a------ that saved you from prison... You are a moron. You don’t get it. You’re going to do the entire 180 days... If something doesn’t change in you between now and the time you get out, I’ll make it my mission to send you to prison if you violate probation. We’ll see what an a----- I am.”

So we're back at square one? Its kinda all over the place. I see he wrestled in the Florida state championships in 2003 but didn't place. I then saw he was 2nd or 3rd in line for the 165 pound spot in OSU's 2009 roster. I'll keep digging. I don't think he wrestled all that much but id like to know exactly what the story is.

My boy was a blue belt and tapped em when he was a brown. His coach came up and said he's happy it happened, AJ is too cocky. Years later we see it taught him nothing
