Not just the wrestling but also how his boxing heavy style makes him likely to get hit by knees, head kicks and taken down and rag dolled because he needs to be close to do damage.

Your evidence is Topuria outclassing a guy with a similar fighting style to Islam? Not to say Bryce is on Islam's level, he's very good at what he does when it comes to grappling and controlling people, and he and Islam share the same MO.

I was actually saying ilia wrestling and grappling was good enough to stop the better grapplers (as some say), which is what many say.

How would he deal with the size and how effective will his feints and entries be against a southpaw looking for openings to counter? Volk is a pressure fighter too and found ways in but he also ate a TON of counters in both fights. I think from what we've seen so far it's a pretty unwinnable fight and I think he hits all of the same issues Volk did the 1st time. He might sting Islam a bit more than Volk but he also might get in range less often too.

According to Toouria, when he was taken down he looked the clock and wait resting untill the end of the round. He is clever in that aspect to keep his cardio on point.
Also, gotta look how much he improves between fights.

People think Mitchell is a bum just because he got knocked out by Emmett lol. His grappling is legit. But yeah it’s an obvious hole in Ilia’s game that can be exploited by an elite wrestler
