Has there actually ever been a time in your life where you had a legitimate suspension of disbelief watching wrestling?

Pro wrestling is guys standing around waiting to take turns to do moves on each other, it always has been. When I was 5 in 1988 watching Randy Savage coming off a top rope with an elbow on a guy that's just laying there waiting on him I didn't believe in what was happening, but I still enjoyed it.

There's a big difference there. Randy would slam his man, hit the top rope and land the elbow within seconds. Compare that to someone like Hangman or Pac taking a full half minute to do a top rope maneuver. That's the suspension I'm talking about. And there has been a (probably) well executed match leading up to that point. Compare that to four men trading Canadian Destroyers.

It's like comparing a Bruce Lee fight scene to one from the Shaw Brothers. Bruce looked like he was legitimately kicking ass. The Shaw Brothers had scenes with wires and blood hoses. It just looks impossible.

You didn't answer my question at all. Did you ever -believe- what you were watching when watching a wrestling match, let alone matches from an entire promotion for full cards night in and night out.

Randy literally stood on the top rope and posing pointing his two fingers in the air while the guy laid on the mat just waiting for him. He got his signature taunt in and made his opponent wait there looking like an ass and we loved him for it.

What makes a "well executed" match? It's all people taking turns letting another guy beat them up. They literally just stand there not defending themselves while another guy does moves on them. Name the best in ring workers in the history of the business and that's always been what they do. Whether it's Ric Flair, Randy Savage, Mitsuharu Misawa, Antonio Inoki, Bruno Sammartino, Harley Race etc. They literally just stand there letting another man beat them up until it's their turn lol there's never been a single thing "believable" about pro wrestling matches in our life time.
