Halloween 1, 2, 4 and weird ass Cult of Thorn Halloween 5 & 6 are all classics to me. 3 is a non factor, they should retcon the name and call it something else lol

H20 and Resurrection both sucked ass, it was annoying how they retconned 4,5, and 6 just to end up being retconned themselves when Laurie returned for the new ones lol

Rob Zombie's first one was ok, 2nd one pissed me off with how he turned Dr. Loomis into a Hollywood douchebag. The opening scene of the 2nd one was great though.

Halloween 2018 was good. Kills was meh. Still putting off watching the new one. Not a fan of them retconning the original sequels again, this time even retconning the 2nd one. My entire life Laurie was Michael's sister, now she's not.....ok

@Based God i can see not liking h20 as a Halloween movie. I watch it as a fun late 90s early 2000 type slasher which I think it does a good job as a fun slasher in that vein. I actually really like it. But I can see it as a departure from a Halloween film. I would have preferred if they didn’t have that stupid switch in the end.

H20 is a great, fun movie. I just wish they had figured out the mask better. He wears the mask from 6 in the opening, which is my favorite mask of all the sequels.

That’s what Michael Myers is supposed to look like! that’s terrifying

Then for the rest of the movie, its an entirely different mask. I have no idea why they changed it and let us see so much of his eyes

I still like the movie though. Will watch it sometime in the next couple days

H20 denigrated an entire series that I enjoyed by pretending it didn't exist. They were like "Jamie Lloyd, who is that? We're gonna go ahead and pretend that wasn't a thing". When it came out I was shoot mad. All 5 Michael Myers movies to that point I'd seen like 20 times each, they spit at movies I loved with H20.

and they did it for no reason, because H20 ended up getting the same treatment by the new ones. New ones were like "H20? Never heard of ya" <Lmaoo>

Lotta similarities between the two but I prefer:

When it comes to slasher horror.

The last one wasn’t that bad, just not a fan when these movies try to make the viewer sympathetic towards the being killing everyone.

Like the idea of the antagonist being moreso a ‘force of nature’ instead of “ah, their childhood sucked, i get why they’re killing everything”.

..similar to monster/kaiju movies. The first Cloverfield movie was good like that. Big monster takes the city and it’s inhabitants to FSU.

It’s insane how Scream-ish it is watching it now. Makes sense that the main writer for Scream did the initial script and several uncredited rewrites. “Just scratch out Ghsotface and put Michael in!” Not even how it’s written though, just how it looks and is filmed
