you gonna watch the josh taylor fight tomorrow?
I'm going to watch that new Foo Fighters movie but hopefully I'm back in time for the main event. Should be an easy win for Josh Taylor though. He's on another level at the moment

Read rumors of ROH purchase and HBO Max deal.

Would be cool if AEW got it's own section on HBO Max like WWE has on Peacock. I'm surprised AEW hasn't been on HBO Max already since it's the same parent company as TBS and TNT.

Entire AEW and ROH library on HBO Max would be dope.

AEW running ROH would be awesome, people stay complaining about roster bloat in AEW, they could rotate the roster in and out between ROH and AEW to fix that roster bloat issue. Get ROH some star power sometimes and keep people fresh for AEW TV returns.

Some are saying a NJPW/AEW Supershow.

I hope that happens, but I hope that's not the announcement that's "very important for the wrestling business as a whole". If it turns out this announcement is just for a supershow, Tony Khan is gonna get shit for overhyping things again lol

Depends on the level of the show. If they try and do a stadium show or something I'd say that's pretty big.

ROH and New Japan already did a supershow and sold out Madison Square Garden, it's not really new territory they're entering.

An AEW and New Japan announcement, especially in a stadium would be big news, but if dude hyped something big that's "important for the entire industry" and it's just a show, that's kind of weak.

Him buying another company like ROH would fit that bill, even the HBO Max deal would fit that bill if the deal is a big money deal, because it would mean AEW could continue to financially compete with WWE for talent.

I don't even think people really care that much about New Japan in America anymore, they're basically a glorified indy when they run shows in the US now days. AEW could probably do a stadium themselves depending on the city and New Japan would just be an added bonus.

I've been reading for a few weeks now that Tony Khan has been working on whatever this deal is, with Meltzer always talking about Tony having numerous meetings about whatever it is. If weeks of work turn out to just be a New Japan supershow and/or a stadium show, that would be weird.

This is probably hoping for too much, but if Tony buys RoH he'll have the All In name. All In 2 with AEW, NJPW, GCW, and Impact involved.

Cue AEW-haters

"Tony relies on surprises too much!"
