Who is he dropping it to? Swerve or someone else?

Would like Swerve to be in the picture asap but also want Joe to run around with the belt for a bit.

Swerve's time is coming, but nix the Keith Lee shit. This is sorta booked into a corner because Joe deserves the spotlight for a bit but you gotta strike with Swerve. No clue who to have Swerve beef with for the next few months while Joe smashes.

Really, Khan should sit down with Keith Lee and Santana and ask them if they want to be in AEW.. If they don't, let them go.

I think they are done once the contracts are up.
Loooooooot of people not getting re-signed.
But it was a gamble by TK, sign everyone and keep the ones that work out. No loss.

Hope Ortiz gets re-signed, even if he winds up tagging with someone else. He's a solid hand and kinda got waylaid with Santana's nonsense.

Seeing that apparently Santana and Ortiz had two opportunities to win the tag titles, but things didn't work out. I wonder what happened there

Ya wtf is going on with him?
I really wish I knew the reason why they're so pissy.

Seems like Santana wanted him and Ortiz to actually advocate for a push and fight for themselves, but Ortiz was content with just getting a check and getting booked, so Santana refused to team with him anymore.

The way Santana went about it by setting a hard line stance and refusing to team with him anymore, when they were hired to be a tag team might've been the wrong way to go about it, but it seems like Santana is right. Guy wanted more, his partner didn't. Doesn't seem like AEW is very interested in either of them as singles guys. Santana has some upside and I'd like to see him do well as a singles guy, but I wonder if the powers in AEW aren't happy with the way he went about things.

Wondering if it was all the praise Santana was getting for some of his great promos he was doing, then getting a singles title in Puerto Rico(?), and it went to his head?.. then maybe some personal issues mixed in with his injury while he was potentially in an emotional state. Probably blames Ortiz for shit that may or may not be Ortiz's fault.

My understanding of Santana & Ortiz is that they were pretty well off with one another but obviously something happened to fracture that. Only reason I would point out any shift in Santana's ego and potential inflated self value is we see this all the time in pro rasslin'. Have read nothing about Ortiz being a shit or anything like that, only really see stuff about Santana out there, albeit nothing entirely negative really.

This is just me spitballing against the psych degree that I barely use.

And that would make total sense with some sort of animosity building up. Santana possibly feels like Ortiz is holding him back, if there's any truth to that, Santana's right to feel that way.

Santana is already starting his indy darling run. He beat Matt Cardona for the House of Glory World Championship a few weeks back in front of a big crowd and got a huge pop. Those big indy darling runs can be huge for a guy's career. Betting on himself might work out better in the end. If AEW let's him walk, I wouldn't doubt NXT gives him a call then he can prove it.

Whoever gets it next, they should let Joe have a good run. It's best for everyone. The outgoing champ stays strong, and the new one looks even better.

That would probably be the best move, B. Swerve has been hot for a minute now. But I would like to see a month long build. I don't want a match announced a week before a PPV. They are going to have a 4*+ match, that's a given. These guys have great character work and promos. Let them build for a month first. I want it to get personal between these two!

Agreed with everything here.

Or do they try to throw Eddie against Joe first?

I'm salivating at the promos!

Don't change your av ever, please.
I need that shot of nostalgia whenever I come on here.
