Adriano Moraes in the UFC

Probably Top 5 in FLW or BW.

According to Tapology it was 5 years ago, unless he is getting a pass to cut MMA style to 135lbs he might still be able to make 125lbs if he would be in the UFC.

How do you know this? He might have said it himself, im just looking for a source, he used to fight at low 140's in the UFC.

Its on his IG account i believe it was posted on this forum somewhere..

He says something like

Woke up this morning 136 RIP...im a small boii

He's more likely to end up at 145 than 125. He's already struggling to make the UFC's Bantamweight limits in ONE (Featherweight). I think he clearly loses to the top five at 135 in the UFC. He would probably max out as a fringe top ten guy.

how many limbs would he have to cut off to make 125? I say at least 2

How? He is fighting at 135 with their weight cutting rules, unless they are allowing him to cheat badly he should be able to make 135 in the UFC fairly easy or maybe 125lbs.

i doubt he takes the risk. small guys arent marketable in the US.

dana isn't going to pay him what he's making in one OneFC

I don't think he makes 125. He's getting older. I didn't say he couldn't make 135 in the UFC. I just think it's more likely he fights at 145 than 125.

I think it's a moot point really. He's going to be in ONE for a long time. The UFC won't pay him a monthly stipend like they do, nor pay him as well.

Couldnt find it, anyway, making 135lbs means a "small" cut for him considering he was 142lbs against Cejudo, im not sure how it works for ONE but saving those extra 10lbs cut from a guy that small it has to be a decent benefit and they might still pass their tests, they have to cut some weight, just not the extremes the other orgs allow.

Idk probably pretty well. Can he make 125? He might have to move up to bantamweight.
Well of course he could make 125, after all they don't cut weight in one fc right? He only looks two weight classes bigger than dj because his bones are hollow on the inside

Honestly I don't think he'd break the Top 10 of BW

Kicker
Grappler
Not the best cardio or activity

His brutal grounded knees wouldn't be allowed in UFC

Number 10 Ricky Simon would outwrestle and out-grind him and win on points
Number 9 Song Yadong would simply out-bomb him
Number 8 Rob Font would out-cardio/activity him. Even if Adriano's kicks could dissuade Rob's jabbery I just don't see him keeping pace.

Maaaaaybe he could beat Nr 7 Cory Sandhangen in an Aljo-style backpack performance? Cory is lacksidasical in those positions and Adriano hunts for them. But still, that's more of a long-shoot.

0 faith in ONE's weight system. Such a fekkin scam!

10-15 range at bantamweight could possibly sneak into the top 10 with the right match ups but he couldn’t beat anyone in the current top 5

He's just tall not really big. They do hydration tests and do multiple weigh-ins leading up to the fight so he's not cutting that much weight. There's other flyweights similar weight to him. He's top heavy, the President of ONE describes him as having skinny legs and that's how he's able to make the weight. All flyweights weigh above 135, many are cutting 20-30 lbs.

I think the fact that the first time they did hydration tests publicly everyone started falling them and they ended up doing a bunch of catch weights tells you how seriously you should take them. It's interesting that on the Lee Vs Ok II card on the same day where they did it all behind closed doors as usual everyone made hydration.

Moraes is significantly bigger than when he was an actual flyweight, would be a bantamweight in the UFC for sure.

It's still better than nothing and fighters are actually fighting closer to their actual walk around weight. They also don't allow you to gain too much weight the day of weigh-ins. There's only a certain percentage of weight you can gain back after weigh-in. Yes people are still cutting, but a lot less than they used to. This is why Demetrious is fighting at that weight class which is 135lbs at ONE and not 125lbs. So that's already 10 lbs of weight he doesn't have to cut compared to before. Most people cut 15-20 lbs. So he's closer to his natural weight.

It's a good idea if implemented properly. All I'm saying is Moraes isn't making 125 ever.

He's the only guy who knocked out DJ, so probably top 5-10.

Probably not but he's fighting closer to his natural weight, I don't see him as feather weight so he's in the right weight class at ONE.
