How would he do?
I feel he would be a bantamweight in the UFC.Idk probably pretty well. Can he make 125? He might have to move up to bantamweight.
He's just tall not really big. They do hydration tests and do multiple weigh-ins leading up to the fight so he's not cutting that much weight. There's other flyweights similar weight to him. He's top heavy, the President of ONE describes him as having skinny legs and that's how he's able to make the weight. All flyweights weigh above 135, many are cutting 20-30 lbs.

I'm saying they cut 20-30 lbs overall. Most can only gain 10-20lbs max on fight day after weigh-ins. The average is 10-15lbs of weight gain on fight day.DJ was 136 come fight night...
Hes not 20-30 pounds above 135...
According to Tapology it was 5 years ago, unless he is getting a pass to cut MMA style to 135lbs he might still be able to make 125lbs if he would be in the UFC.He will not make FW in the UFC. He is currently fighting at 135. You can claim he isn't cutting weight but he is. Last time he actually fought at FW was maybe ten years ago.
How do you know this? He might have said it himself, im just looking for a source, he used to fight at low 140's in the UFC.DJ was 136 come fight night...
The rest is water weight. You can cut like 10lbs of water weight, some fighters cut more water weight than that. It's not always about height. Mass and bone density matters as well. You can have 2 fighters at 5'8'' but one be a Flyweight fighter, while other is a Featherweight or LW fighter. Look at TJ who struggled to make Flyweight, he's not that big either. So the fighters making flyweight being taller than TJ don't really have bigger mass or bone density and that's how they can make flyweight. That's also why there is a power difference between those fighters even if they are similar in height. That's why people think it's rare for flyweights to have KO power.I'm 5 ft 9(he's 5 ft 8) I've been 132 before. That was the absolute limit for me. It's not impossible for guys that size to reach that weight.
For light people being that light feels amazing and gives you agility. I'ma not so sure it works the same way as it does the upper weight classes where fighters are trying to gain back as much as possible after weigh ins cause there walk around is way higher. I'm sure a lot of them are like that but not everyone.
I did a thread on "stretchy" fighters basically the tallest skinniest fighters and there's some really extreme cases out there.
I was under the impression that ONE FC changed their weight cutting system in 2015? Everyone got bumped up to 135 lbs. Adriano fought at 125 in 2017? I just figured last time he fought at 125 was in 2014 or even 2015 and rounded up to ten years.Probably Top 5 in FLW or BW.
