DHEA is a steroid. It's usage is banned, it is considered a PED. Machida is responsible for what he puts in his body. Ignorance is not an excuse and has never been an excuse. Expect a standard 2-4 year ban.
 
Technically he's never cheated, seen as he didn't fight and he's never tested positive prior.

Failing the pre-fight drug screen is the same as failing a test. He's a cheater.
 
1) Its not a steroid.
2) It may still be cheating, but props to him for at least admitting it. Every other guy that gets busted lies about it. Machida should get some respect for it.
 
I respect those that take responsibility for what they have done.

Tim Sylvia was very upfront when he popped and took his punishment like a man.

To be fair, claiming it was just banned 4 months ago is a flat out lie. It's been banned for years.
 
Cheater would be if he fought Dan while on the banned DHEA substance. He didnt, he never failed a drug test before and didn't fail one now, he just admitted to using it in a form sheet. This is the mildest possible PED accusation since the USADA testings. Yet people are slamming Machida as if he was caught injecting testosterone in his body.
 
I hope tainted Viagra excuse strategy doesnt get him less time.

That’s the weakest argument you could make. It’s been on the banned list in numerous states, where Machida has fought, for years. And again, claiming it was just added to ANY LIST 4 months ago is a lie.

It certainly is a steroid. You don't get to decide what a steroid is based on what you consider to be "effective."
