Adesanya discovered that not every fighter can be put away with one shot and has good cardio to go all three rounds, even with grappling.

Vettori took him down in the third, but what did he/could he do with it? Absolutely nothing. He tried for all of his life to hold onto Adesanya; moreover, Adesanya was still able to get up and received no damage from bottom position. Vettori is good, but he could not land any effective punches, but he did land some nice body kicks.

If you think Vettori won round 1, or 2 - you are blind. I even think Adesanya could have won round 3.

Keep hating! He will come back better and stronger.. you know it. Prospects win and lose, it is what they do in order to solidify themselves as a contender. He didn't get the finish, but he made Vettori flinch every time he threw a little feint.

You are witnessing the rise of IsGOAT Adesanya!

I saw a guy who was moving well and throwing a few nice-looking strikes for 10 minutes but didn't do any significant damage and didn't have a clue what to do on the mat

I wasn't convinced of the hype. Even in his last fight where people thought he showed he's special I saw a lot of holes in his game. Don't see him breaking into the top 10 anytime soon

Vettori had a better second round than Israel had third round. Israel had no offense whatsoever in the 3rd and standing up after being TD shouldn't be rewarded. 29-28 was proper.

I was with Cruz when he said Vettori should turn that LHK into a body kick because of the way Israel was defending it. That could have been a liver kick TKO waiting to happen.

Israel is the UFC's version of MVP.

dude is 28 with 57 kickboxing fights. He is pretty damn old in ring age. If he is going to get better in the grappling department he better do it in a fucking hurry

He's an interesting prospect, fun to watch, just not as good as he thinks he is. He's one of those guys i'll root for after he gets humbled by a loss but until then he'll probably get more and more insufferable. Seems likely that he'll try to play the villain to build his brand which is smart I suppose.

There are wrestlers in the division who will be able to pick him up over their heads and throw him out of the cage if they want to.

You don't have to be a hater to have an honest opinion

It wasn't a good performance, and the UFC will do this sometimes to serve as a "learning experience" to guys they want to invest in. They could have gave him some killer, but gave him a winnable, yet challenging fight so that he could potentially fix any holes that are in his game.

He will never be an elite wrestler, but that doesn't mean he can't improve his tdd.. Which I wouldn't attribute as being horrible to begin with. In fact, I thought he did well for a stand up fighter, but like DC was saying, there are gonna be guys that he will face that will walk towards him and just fight.. Not out technique him, but make it ugly, and exploit what Vettori did in the 3rd round.

I did give the fight to Vettori, rds. 1 & 3 as well.

He needs to work on his ground game but the judge who had it for Vettori has lost his mind, what was he watching, i reallly would like to know how he scored it seems crazy to me. Marvin was tough and walked forward taking abuse respect to him he tried to win the fight, if Israel wants the fight the top dogs though he is in for a rude awakening facing a guy like Jacare or Yoel go, to be honest his ground game is lacking but if he gets passable at it he will be a nightmare for anyone seeing as his TDD is already strong.

Vettori is a solid fighter but Adesanya won clearly imo. Adesanya picked him apard with strikes and his good dodging. But... i think Vettori would have won in a 5 round fight.. he started to grind Adesanya out in the third round with grappling.

Agreed a 5 rounder would have went to Vettori. He was getting aggressive and picking up the pace as Israel seemed to be slowing down. Not being able to finish Vettori seemed to be taking a toll on Israel's mind.

You had a good comment until you mentioned MVP. Adesanya actually has legit striking credentials and hasn't ducked anyone. He has fought some of the best in kickboxing and arguably won his title fight. Vettori > anybody that MVP has fought in his mma career. MVP is a can.

He got up. Does this not count as grappling? I know he didn't exactly show a lot of threat from his back, but he re-guarded and got up.

He wasnt offensive on the mat, but you have to give him some credit because he did manage to get back up to his feet. Obviously he has a long way to go, but if he can improve his ground game, he can be a real contender. No way he touches the top 5 right now, but in a year or two he can make leaps and bounds with his grappling. The base is there, now to see if he can improve upon it.

This guy isn’t very good. I don’t see why he’s so hyped. Maybe because he does some spinning Shit?

Only thing special about him that I noticed was how natural it was for him to switch stances and the way he dodges headkicks. Other than that he seemed to throw strikes pretty slow and telegraphed, but at the same time had some quick strikes which I have no idea if he’s doing that on purpose or not just to throw off his opponents timing.

It is a matter of time until Adesanya is crushed by a mid-level wrestler.
