Media According to Brendan Allen, Sean Strickland was taking down Ankalaev “effortlessly” in recent camps

Do you believe him?

Even if Strickland could take Izzy down and win the fight with wrestling, he'd probably still stand and jab.

It was a while ago and he did lose, but his bottom game was pretty decent vs Usman. Don't know if I've ever seen his offensive wrestling though.
He think he wrestled Uriah Hall a little bit but I can't remember how much. I do remember him having Hall flattened out at one point, much closer to finishing than Muniz came for comparison.

But that's the only example I can think of.

It’s more believable given that Allen got TKOd badly by Strickland, and isn’t better served giving him props.

MMA On Point just did a video on him. Says he was purely a grappler when he started.

If that is true he fucked up choosing to stand with Alex. Maybe he decided to play the long game and didn’t expect this to come out before he got a TS? But it’s too late for Izzy to do anything about it now. Unless he pulls out.

Who did Allen hear this from? That would be nice to know. It would be funny as hell if he wrestled Izzy to a decision.
well that’s been the subject of conversation before. why did he decide to stand and trade with a world champion kickboxer when he knows how to wrestle? ive yet to hear a convincing answer.

Camp stories… don’t care if it’s true or not

Even if true, we're unlikely to actually see it in a fight.

Didn't know Allen and Strickland trained together. I recall Strickland going off about Allen when he asked for a rematch after their fight.
