"Motivated BJ Penn" is such a meme, I wonder if any of BJ's guys know this… Khabib and most of the other top LWs would walk through Penn and anyone who thinks otherwise is blinded by nostalgia.

Prime BJ would be a bantamweight by today’s standards and yet went on to fight Machida at LHW and win the WW belt. No current LW’s could or would do either of those things.

Prime BJ was amazing and his peak was among the highest ever but unfortunately his fall and him sticking around too long ruined his legacy so now casuals think he sucked.

Bj was getting really sloppy out there in the streets. Motivated is better though. He blew through so many contenders. It was something to see.

One of the first BJ performances I have ever witnessed involved him finishing on some japanese dude pretty ferociously in the first few seconds.
It left a mark. I never wanted to get finished so quickly by a BJ after seeing this.
