I feel like as time went on... a Newer generation of Real explosive athletic athletes starting to emerge in the UFC...

Example.. In the early days guys like Big Nog... Couture.. Liddell ruled the LHW Division..

Then these young black, explosive, fast twitched athletes came alone such as Rampage(Who wasnt THAT young and was in Pride and fought Chuck once lol) Rashad Evans, all came along and brutally KO'd Liddel and all the other OG's... Then after that Jones came, OSP, Manuwa, RUMBLE!, Tyron Woodley...

I feel like the older guys like Hughes, GSP(Dont kill me), Bisping Are really good.. But lack that explosive POWER and speed the other newer guys have.

And now Kalil Rountre, Yoel Romero, Ngannou are in the UFC....

As far as Level Athletes go.. I think of it as.. How athletic are you... How explosive is your body?? I feel like OSP is a good example of someone who could be from basketball or football. Hes Tall, Thick legged, big glutes (no homo) lol .

But yeah he lost a lot. Id say hes at least B level... Yoel is probably A level.. The dude can jump super high at his age and for his height..

Jones is more tall and long.. Idk about A level.... Gus sent him to the hospital lol. Hes atleast B though...

Brock is way more athletic than Ngannou lol. For me, Brock and Yoel are the top of the pyramid, maybe also Randleman.

To me an A-level athlete is someone who has dedicated most of their lives to their given sport, and has had great success for doing so.

Round tree is not even C level, he grew up overweight and depressed and took up MMA to lose weight.

Jon Jones has 2 brothers who are B level athletes, he himself is inferior to both and C level at most.

Romero is a B level athlete but way past his prime when he got into MMA

Ngannou is the product of UFC hype machine. Literally anyone can KTFO anyone else at HW, he had a bunch of lucky KOs, nothing more. Guy has no cardio and no heart. D level.

And lol at OSP being in basketball or football. If any of these guys could have a career in the NFL or NBA, you think they'd give 2 shits about MMA?

Chandler Jones is not a B level athlete lmao

I disagree on Yoel, I think he's about as good as they come. Perhaps the best pure athlete wrestling has ever seen.

Wrestling is a C level sport. Look at the money in it.

DC is a C level athlete and an elite wrestler. Romero is a clear step above DC so he's B level.

There is not a single A level athlete that has ever competed in the UFC

Not a single one.

What money? All the olympic sports are amateur sports, its not like Yoel could have competed in sports leagues in north America or something instead. This is an issue Cuban athletes have had for decades. You're acting like he grew up in the US and somehow chose to do wrestling rather than pro sport. Compare Yoel to the "A-level" athlete of your choice. The way Yoel moves is world class whatever the sport, the only thing he doesn't really have is size. His vertical jump is crazy, he's super coordinated, extremely flexible, explosive by any metric.

Btw, DC supposedly ran 4.5 in the 40yd dash as a linebacker in high school, which is pretty fast even by combine standards.

A level athlete is a Sherdog creation.. They don't exist

I actually agree with EVERYTHING YOU SAID.. Except Romero a B level athlete??? The dude is 40 and jumping his height lol . hes doing flying knees and doing back flips and somersaults before every fight... At 40.... Are you serious? Lol I think hes A level

what the fuck is this race baiting bullshit

Same .. I agree on everything else except the Yoel part. Hes deff A level

Really? Have you looked at the earnings and net worths of true A level Olympians like Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps? They make a shit ton from outside sponsors.

Cuba's population is barely over 10 million, US population is 300 million, so statistically speaking they have far fewer top athletes just based on a massively smaller gene pool, and if what you say is true, that their athletes don't get paid for shit compared to the US, then it means even if there are Cuban A level athletes, they will have no access to the best training and nutrition money can buy, and since achievement is nature + nurture with roughly 50% contribution, an A level athletes who doesn't have A level training and nutrition would be downgraded to B/C level.

lol "supposedly". There's no proof. Brock Lesnar ACTUALLY ran a 4.7 and he has 80lbs on Romero. Brock is a B level athlete so maybe Romero is only C+ level.

Either way even if he were A level in his prime (I don't think so but whatever),he is still effectively B level now he's 40 years old.
