A giant 9 foot kangaroo spotted in Australia

How are they estimating 9 foot from that footage?

9 feet however in this story an exaggeration

It was an old boomer that was Dad's nemesis, he took lots of shots at it over a period of about 4 years with his .22 but was never close enough, or the Roo stationary enough, to get a good hit on it.

Dads mate caught it unawares eating the top of a blackboy in a clearing and dropped it. When they pelted it and cut it it up for dog meat it had over a dozen easily identifiable holes in its pelt, 22 slugs and small scars from previous injuries. It's pelt was like a leather jerkin armour.

Hunting for food is a bad thing? They were breadline poor and rabbits and kangaroos were important for their food and pet food.
