I don't ever remember this film getting any love at the time, and majority of people I speak to about it dont remember it.

What a great movie. Ashton Kutcher and Smart have amazing performances and the story itself is pretty riveting.

I remember a buncha years ago my friends & I put it on just to laugh at it, and then it turned out to be a solid movie.

Pretty sure that won an Oscar, my friend.

It won 17 oscars and made 4 billion dollars at the box office. Everyone everywhere has heard of it.

Good movie. They made a bunch of horrible sequels after though. First is kinda underrated though.

I thought it was ok. But that won Oscars? I did not expect that.

Lol this movie did not win an oscar son

You obviously don't know much about The Butterfly Effect.

It's well known around here that it won best picture, and Ashton Kutcher > DDL.

Wouldn't say great but it was a pretty good movie

I was in high school working at the movie theaters when it was released

Don't think Ashton made anything good after that

I never saw it but didn't it have some huge glaring plot hole that essentially ruined it for people? I seem to remember hearing about that

the movie’s whole time traveling premise has more holes than Kinney.

It was a pretty good movie. I still have the DVD.

I really like this movie. I prefer the super depressing 'some people are better off not having been born' director's cut ending though.

Yep, the time travel mechanics don't have any consistency to them. The scene most people complain about is when he is in prison and ends up convincing an inmate to help him by going back in time, where he then spikes his hands as a kid in kindergarten class. The inmate sees the new markings on his hands in the present, and helps him afterwards. The problem is, wouldn't those marks have been on his hands all along then? That event in kindergarten wouldn't have a profound effect on where he is in the present?

I still like the movie despite its flaws though.
