I'd focus more on the songwriting than the jamming. IMO, way too many people get caught up in learning new licks on guitar without being able to songwrite. It becomes pretty masturbatory and not cohesive.

My comments may reflect my complete lack of musical knowledge, but I didn't hear any structure. Sounded random, but I guess that is what improv gets you.
