Mark Hunt UFC 180

- Cain Valasquez pulls out of UFC 180 with injury. Mark Hunt accepts fight as replacement, Three weeks before fight.

- Mark Hunt must lose 46 pounds to make the heavyweight division's 265-pound maximum. No training camp, focus on weight loss only.

- Fight takes place in Mexico City. Mexico city is elavated 7,380 feet above sea level

Mark Hunt a week out from the fight:
"I'm feeling hungry and tired and the rest of it," Hunt said. "It comes with the territory."

almost 2,000 feet higher than Denver. The altitude is making it a major chore. Hunt said he's still more than 10 pounds off weight, but believes he'll be fine for Friday's weigh-ins.

"As you can see, I'm kind of f***ed up," said Hunt, who also alluded to outside "issues" that he would have to deal with after the fight.

Fight result: Werdum RD2 KO

Mark Hunt talks about RD2 fatigue:
“I feel like I was knocked out. My gas was starting to get to me. It was a good trick,” said Hunt.

“He caught me. I got caught. I got a knee in my face,” he said. “Congratulations to you Fabricio. In this division, if you get caught, you get caught.”

Chad Mendes UFC 189

-
Jose Aldo pulls out of ufc 189 with injury. Chad Mendes accepts fight on three weeks notice.

- Chad Mendes states "no weight loss required"

- 18 day training camp

-Fight takes place in Las Vegas (sea level)

Chad Mendes interview three weeks out from the fight:
Upon hearing reports that Aldo was injured, Mendes began training for a potential shot at McGregor. Mendes will have had only three weeks to prepare, but he said that doesn’t worry him. The 5-foot-6, 145-pound contender, a member of Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male, trains year-round and has had his eye on McGregor since the Irishman first set foot in the octagon.

“I live a healthy lifestyle, I stay in great shape year-round, and I never let my weight get too far out of control,” Mendes said. “For me, taking (the fight) in three weeks, this is perfect for me.”

Fight result: McGregor RD2 TKO

Chad mendes talks RD2 gas tank:
Because he was so exhausted after not having a camp to get in fight-shape as McGregor did, Mendes said that he simply couldn't be as light on his feet after McGregor got up. The fresher and better prepared fighter won at UFC 189, but Mendes believes that with like preparation, he would have gotten the win.

"I was stuck, and that's when he was able to tee off and that's why I lost," he said.

Conclusion
:18 day training camp Mendes's gas tank is on equal terms....with... No training camp, 46 pound weight loss, 7,380 ft elevation Mark Hunt...yes really.o_O

As a final treat, i leave you with a slomo compilation of all the super weak ass body shots, that had no effect ,what so ever, on Chad gassing:

Edit-

My only point,is that in no way should Mendes and Hunt be gassing at the same rate, when you look at what Hunt had to endure pre fight compared to Mendes. Therefore other factors MUST have played a part in Mendes gassing at the same rate eg. Conor's work to the body. Some people cant seem to grasp that, sure a short camp may have made him gas in the latter rounds, but not rounds 1 and 2.

Why does it always have to be one thing or the other? Maybe the two things played a factor.

You had to make a thread proving that Chad didn't really have a training camp? Three weeks is somehow a lot more than two weeks?

Deja vu all over again again again.

Again.

So both took a short notice fight and loss? Great point TS

At this point, people just believe what they want to believe. Is normal.
Like I totally get why folk wanna talk about it but how many times does this thread need to be rehashed. And yes, I agree, I've seen some delusional crap the past couple days

Also, do the math, TS.

As a % of total body weight, assuming Nate probably weighs 180 before leaning out to 155, that's 25 lbs. It's about 14% bw loss compared to 15% of Mark Hunt''s cut to 265. Nate has 11 days vs Hunts 20ish.

Yeah. It's very comparable.

My point is, a guy who had no training camp and had to lose 46 pounds whilst fighting at elevation had better cardio than 145 pound always "fight ready" Mendes. Or so people would have you believe.

must we still pick on mini Mendes. He made a half a million in two weeks. What have you made?

They have different styles. wrestler vs striker.

....

I can't imagine the broken gears stuck in your head because you didn't prove anything here... nothing.

Camps mean nothing. 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days, 2 minutes or 2 seconds. Whatever. Anytime anywhere. You gotta fight, for your right, to party.

- Kenny Florian

Im not picking on Mendes. All im saying is, its beyond far fetched to believe Mendes could gas at a faster or equal rate to a guy who lost 46 pounds in 3 weeks and fought at 7,380 ft elevation.

I love these threads, they are great for profiling purposes and singleing out the couch potato tards who have never trained and simply can't understand that there is a huge difference between "in shape" and "in fight shape". You guys just don't get it and it's hilarious to me.......

I really can't believe that you make threads that showcase how much knowledge you don't possess and then use mmaths to defend your ignorance.

Carry on keyboard warriors...... Carry on ;)

Cry cry, whine whine....

So all you could prove is that both had short camp and both lost.
Congrats on proving short camp was not a myth.

Are you upset TS?
You spent all that time writing, researching and posting gifs and no one gives a shit.
