7 cops shot in South Carolina serving warrant

Lots of ppl don’t think long enough to appreciate that while people are running away from danger that it’s these officers who are running towards it in order to keep streets and places safe from threats or danger so we can carry out our daily lives.

They don’t make nearly enough or receive the respect and credit they truly deserve
It's easy to project yourself into, say, a one on one domestic dispute.

It's another thing altogether to imagine running towards active gunfire.
I'm not ashamed to admit I couldn't do it

You are exactly right

*Awaits for the resident idiot to show up in this thread with a bias against LE officers. Never mind, too late.

There are no manuals to chaos intervention.

Don't I wish there were, guidelines and protocols that work in every situation
For this reason I never Monday morning quarterback anyone. It always comes down to what the officer knew at the time of the occurrence, and was the action they took reasonable and proportionate.

Nothing to be ashamed of there. Most people couldn't in my opinion, they just haven't admitted it yet

I like to think that I could, I conceal carry, but I've never been in a true situation to actually know it or not. Now that I have a wife and we're talking when to start on kids, the odds of it being a coin flip I could I'm sure went down

No offense to any officers, but they start as normal people. I believe people are more capable than they give themselves credit for. No one wants to be in those situations. Signing up to be an officer doesn't give one super powers. If you saw a situation were a child was in danger and you were the only one around to help would you guys not at least try?

the neighborhood it happened in looks money. My gut tells me this was a marriage thing gone bad:
Either:
-Dude was being served divorce papers and he scared the lawyer whatever away and cops were called
or
-dude came home to either his lady with the neighbor or half his shit gone.

These are literally the only 2 things i can think of that would cause some well to do hombre to swap lead with cops in a swanky house development with his goddamn kids nearby.

Agreed and who in the fuck on the left is rejoicing? Not me and no one I know.

Anyone rejoicing in the deaths of police doing their job is a scumbag. The officers attacked here do not deserve hate for this. The mods did the right thing cleaning house in this thread.

Multiple cops shot and the shooter taken into custody alive?

Anyone wanna bet the shooter isn't white?

Why are yall making this political?
These cops were doing their job and got ambushed.
Not some shady lazy fat boy shit.

Context you dumb mother fuckers, context!

So identity is male? Glad he's in custody.

Prayers to the families and law enforcement.

Some details here. Officers showed up to serve a warrant and person started firing from inside. 2 hour standoff then occured with children (I'm guessing his children but pure guess) were held hostage. Suspect is in custody, but no details of how that came to be yet.

Still remains at 1 officer dead, 4 others shot and wounded

RIP the dead officer, condolences to his family and friends.

Swift recovery to the wounded.
