So I just did a mother's day run.

Got 5th in my category, 51st of 1451 runners in the 5km event

Got stuck mid of the pack at the beginning and could not make up time - not that I could have caught the winner of my category who was like 7 minutes ahead. But I'm happy to be here on a nice day and thinking back to a few months ago when I was having a mental breakdown and contemplating suicide I'm glad to be alive.

Anyhow,

Happy mothers day dudes.

5000 miles? boy your legs must be tired.

I just flew in from San Francisco, boy is my ass tired.

i've been trying to work that into a conversation for months.

Glad you enjoyed the run and that things are going well for you. Enjoy Mother's Day!

thanx I think I'm still on that runners high and having a coffee while I wait for the roads around this area to re-open.

Drinking my morning coffee as well. :)

What was your time? I have not been running the last few years but got a few jogs in before running a 5k with some people from work two months ago. I barely broke 30 minutes but I was pleased with my time. I'm in my 50's.

27.47. That start really killed me. trying to weed my way through about 2000 people ahead of me. Think I could have gotten third as the guy who got third was only 2 mins ahead and the start ate up like 3mins aleast.

But it was fun.

Oh bummer, the two runs I have done there was some sort of chip in the number they had you to wear that counted the actual time you crossed the starting line and finish line so the times were accurate.

yeah I had one of those.

chipped time.

Lesson learned for next time to make sure I get near the front before the race starts.
