50 combined significant strikes from Khamzat and Dricus over 25 minutes..... Lowest since the Sandhagen Font disaster

And then you can use these numbers and say Khamzat threw tons of strikes. Like everything, anyone can use whichever numbers they want for the story they want to tell.

OP says "Combined Significant Strikes"

To anyone watching, Khamzat's weirdly (saving gas?) rapid-rabbit-hammer-fists were miles away from being significant strikes, although seeing DDP being completely unable to do anything about it for minutes, multiple times, was truly hard to watch in a schadenfreude kind of way (just...humiliating).

If you watched the fight, you know those numbers aren't even right.

Chimaev might have had 10

Dricus 1-3
According to ufcstats.com, Khamzat landed 12 strikes from distance and DDP landed 10, with both of them landing more than half their distance strikes in Round 5. The first three rounds saw the grand total of one strike landed at distance.

There's a reason why Sherbros are in shambles trying to convince everybody this was a 50-40 fight instead of the 50-44 it was actually scored.

Which is probably being generous instead of 50-45.

TS confirmed as a total casual. I’m a connoisseur of MMA, so naturally I finished my no-nut August before the end of round 2. It helped to turn the volume way up so I could hear every word of DC’s scathing critiques of DDP’s wrestling over the sound of my wife getting railed by her boyfriend.

You don't need significant strikes if you're wrestling and competing for position the whole night.

Although, it would have been great to see more ground and pound, combos etc... instead of those stupid knees to the butt for the majority of the fight.

529 strikes and only 37 where significant.

Nobody got hurt in that fight. Listening to Rogan make fun of the pitty patty strikes Khamzat was doing in the crucifix was hilarious.

It was VERY impressive Khamazat now has the cardio and pace to out wrestle someone for 5 rounds. Its also true he was risk averse and didn't hurt his opponent in any material way. He even spent the last round on bottom twice and with his back taken.

That was a stinker through and through a classic John Fitch style performance. You can't be mad at fans for mentioning it.

Many saying Khamzat only giving noogies last night haanji 💆🏼✊🏼 but I think maybe it is wrong 🥼

For science purpose I myself giving 500 chhoti-thappad over half hour to myself ji 🩴💥💥💥.

But even small thappad is not small-small feeling ji ✨ big body disturbance almost feeling vomit 🤮 left ear experiencing reverb effect 11.2 hertz approx I think maybe oscillation or maybe bhoot

Khamzat very punishment in style haanji 🪨Maybe now cancel slap dangal training this week Waheguru rakha 😵‍💫
Lmao I kind of kept rereading your post multiple times to check if I was going crazy, well done

You do need significant strikes if you want a finish or stronger decision than 50-45 though. Which is everybody's problem with the fight. Khamzat clearly won, but also clearly took zero chances and was perfectly happy riding things out for a safe win.

People have been trying to compare it to GSP, but GSP punched the cage he was so frustrated he hadn't yet stopped BJ (ironically right before BJ's corner threw in the towel)

People can tell what's a genuine effort and what's not.

I dunno man, people have to.... Rewatch Fitch fights..... Okay I won't type that ever again. Anyways I think Khamzat was way more active on the ground than people give him credit for. It was a domination but he didn't hold him only in one position.

He had tons of transitions and "baby strikes". I dunno, I'd be humiliated if I was DDP. I don't think a champ lost a title so bad since Aldo vs Conor.

He was active. It just was also stay busy useless activity.

Nobody's ever going to remember a single ground strike he threw as nothing he threw had any bad intentions. It's only intentions was to prevent a stand up.

Not true, round 3 he was throwing pretty hard elbows that got close to a finish. This is why I think it's a disingenuous argument.

I'd say you're a Khamzat hater, never appreciated him as a fighter. He's had plenty of 1st round finishes and you are overly critical for whatever reason you don't like him.

If you are a Khamzat fan, I'm curious why you're so critical. If you aren't you are likely a hater and nothing he does will probably impress you enough where you are typing stuff how awesome he is.

*Has had plenty of 1st round finishes.*

*Also goes 25 minutes throwing only 37 significant strikes.*

It's almost like those two might be related and why people are frustrated. We can all see the lack of effort.
