1. Over 1,400 more black Americans murdered other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968.

According to FBI data, 4,906 black people murdered other blacks in 2010 and 2011. That is 1,460 more black Americans killed by other blacks in two years than were lynched from 1882 to 1968, according to the Tuskegee Institute.

2. Black People (mostly men) commit a grossly disproportionate amount of crime.

In 2012, white males were 38 percent of the population and committed 4,582 murders. That same year, black males were just 6.6 percent of the population but committed a staggering 5,531 murders.

In other words: black people–at just a fifth of the size–committed almost 1,000 more murders than their white counterparts.

The figures above highlight a horrific truth that black racialists and white liberals routinely ignore: Lawbreaking black Americans, young black males particularly, put themselves in close proximity to (mostly white male) police officers at rates sometimes five to 10 times higher than whites. This is a recipe for disaster.

3. Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks committed half of homicides in the United States for nearly 30 years.

DOJ statistics show that between 1980 and 2008, black people committed 52% of homicides.

In 2013, black criminals committed 38% of the murders. Whites accounted for just 31 percent.

There are five times fewer black people than white people in America and, yet, they consistently carry out a larger share of the crimes? Given this rate, it’s no wonder that there aren’t more assistance's where cops kill black criminals.

4. Chicago’s death toll is almost equal to that of both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, combined.

There have been almost as many deaths in one American city as there have been in the two major wars carried out by the U.S. military this century.

Chicago’s death toll from 2001–November, 26 2015 stands at 7,401. The combined total deaths during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2015: 4,815) and Operation Enduring Freedom/Afghanistan (2001-2015: 3,506), total 8,321.

5. It would take cops 40 years to kill as many black men as have died at the hands of others black men in 2012 alone.

University of Toledo criminologist Dr. Richard R. Johnson examined the latest crime data from the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide Reports and Centers for Disease Control and found that an average of 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually between Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 31, 2012.

First off I'm not trying to race bait here. The truth is that these numbers are quite alarming. Instead of pointing figures we (as Americans) should be trying to figure out solutions.

With all of the racial tensions in our country right now what can we do as a society to help fix this? I think focusing on the inner city education system would be a good start. Some of these schools are in shambles. Shouldn't we be dumping money into fixing things from the ground up?

Is it a race issue or a social economic issue?

Facts are racist bro. Racism is bad, therefore facts are bad.

But seriously outside help will never solve the problem, inner city community leaders are the ones that have to push for change.

*bait, btw

It's a social economic issue but it cannot be fixed in one or even 2 generations.
1. Eliminate the war on drugs so black fathers are no longer taken from their families for non violent offenses
2. Provide better education and college for ALL people free of charge.
3. Provide more inner city social programs. Extra curricular activities and job training programs.
4. Offer a gun buyback program. For every gun turned in the individual gets 100 - 200 bucks. Once those guns are cleared gun permit holders can buy them cheap. (This would include a no questions asked policy)
5. Put more police on the streets (and I mean actually on the streets) even a military presence should not be off the table
6. All violent gun offenses should be mandatory 10 years in prison.
7. Offer free substance abuse programs for anyone who wants to participate.

How is it a social economic issue? There's more white people living in poverty than there are black people in their entirety.

By that standard, the Appalachians should be the most violent part of the country, seeing as how it's the poorest area in all 50 states.

The most poor people in the country are white.

The 10 U.S. counties with the lowest annual median household incomes. These are all white or majority counties and crime is relatively low when compared to Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, St. Louis, Washington D.C.,

1. Owsley County, Ky. – $21,177
2. Zavala County, Texas – $21,843
3. Clay County, Ky. – $22,255
4. Knox County, Ky. -$22,493
5. Wilcox County, Ala. – $22,611
6. Quitman County, Miss. – $22,625
7. Sumter County, Ala. – $22,857
8. McCreary County, Ky. – $23,163

I think there is a big difference between urban and country poverty. Squish people together and shit gets worse. Just my opinion.

In the top 10 most violent cities in the US, only in the areas where the African American communities, is where all the violence take place. Chicago, for example.

In Las Vegas, the most violent part of the city is North Las Vegas, which makes the bulk of the African American community.

Yes, I do.

Well lets here it.

I think scaling back the war on drugs and refocusing those police onto violent crime might have all kinds of benifits

I think funding and rebuilding schools might help

I think creating a lot of incentives for companies to make things here and creating a few decent paying lower education jobs might do wonders.

Just a few random ideas on the subject.

I dont know how to say this in a sensitive way but I also think the black community needs to take a look in the mirror. A lot of this crap can be traced to racism and oppression but a lot of it is also the current culture they embrace. Blacks killing blacks is the one major issue that I cant see being blamed on whites and I cant see how other races can really help solve that one.

The schools get plenty of money. Throwing money at the problem won't help. People live in much poorer countries whose schools receive a fraction of the financial support ours do and they still don't have high crime rates. The idea that money fixes this is wrong.

Criminals are criminals and shouldn't be released. Most people in jail for drug crimes are not in there for possession of weed. They're dealers. Dealers destroy neighborhoods. They should not be released. You'll just be flooding the streets with criminals, further destabilizing these neighborhoods.

Black people need to have children in wedlock. The parents need to stick together and be good role models for their kids. Work 40 hours per week and do your best, even if it doesn't pay well. Teach them that school is important and that they will live better than they do now if they try their best at school. There seems to be a culture that going to prison isn't a big deal. That needs to change, too. Prison should be seen as a fate worse than death, not some initiation rite.

social economic.
There are more poor white people than poor black people. And where are these staggering numbers among poor Asian immigrants? It's a cultural problem, almost entirely.

number 1. education.
number 2. education.
number 3. education.

urban black youth need to go to school. those schools need to be able to handle them.
urban black females need to learn to keep their legs closed. stop having kids at the age of 14 and keeping the cycle going. i cant say this enough. proper sex ed and real word cause and effect observation can do wonders.
urban black males need proper life skills and real world lessons. if dads not at home regardless of the reason they need to be taught simple things like balancing a check book, resume building, the importance of hard work, ethics and finicial responsibility, strong role models espically strong male role models will help with this.
real world substance abuse education. no one is making anyone smoke crack, if you learn about how terrible this stuff is there wont be demand for it.
social accountability the " thug life" mentality, and snitches get stitches attitude need to end. If the community dosent want violence the community needs to come together and create change, that means not turning a blind eye and letting the police do their jobs. and dare i say... actually supporting law inforcment.
its not a "white thing" to want to be educated. that shit needs to end. ignorance breeds ignorance.
its not something that can change overnight.
