Damn I have a lot of family in Kalamazoo, my uncle even owned a restsraunt in paw paw.
 
I wonder if the driver will turn out to be a repeat DWI offender.
 
They just had the Uber shooter a few months ago....

They really should be quicker to take away driving licenses for life. It's treated like an inalienable right but if you took away licenses from the worst 5% of drivers, people in general would live a lot longer, including the idiots who lost their licenses.
 
i bike-ride all the time, and i'm always looking both ways before biking across a street. it really amazes me the amount of people who don't look both ways before making a right or leaving a parking lot to enter a street. but in this case, it seems the driver was just mental. i feel horrible for their families.

Driving a car is one of the most dangerous activities anyone will ever do.
 
You'll never catch me in the city streets riding a bike. Park, park trails, country side yes. But I'm not putting my life in the hands of retard drivers on the road. You want me to assume everyone drives safe? Lol no thanks

+1, I ride on the sidewalks, even if it's considered illegal. Hell, even motorbikes, I wouldnt drive as a daily driver. It's not about how safe you drive, it's about others not paying attention, you simply have no control over that.

Unfortunately taking their licenses doesn't stop them from driving. Here's a guy in Michigan who was arrested for it 25 times.

Driving without a valid license should be a felony but it is just a simple fine that many don't ever pay. I knew a man who never had a license and he drove for at least 40 years. He finally got caught when his vehicle broke down.

Christ man , heart goes out to all the friends and families. I'm betting that guy had at least 2 dui 's on his record.
 
Oddly enough I rode tonight by a car accident tonight. Someone smashed their car up really good at the side of the road and a bunch of cyclists stopped to call the police/ambulance and stayed with the driver.
 
I ride bicycles the same way I ride motorcycles, as though everyone else on the road is trying to kill me. It's worked for me so far.
