Dana claims he has been paying everyone 5-25k per fight based on performance.
Making it seem like these guys were getting paid.

What he failed to mention and the weak ass reporters failed to bring up is, that money is their sponsorship money. Remember when they had there own sponsors and Reebok deal took all that away.
I remember Vitor saying he was making 1 million a year on sponsors and than after the Reebok deal it went to 25k.

I don't really care.

You know what, though? Upper deckers are always funny.

How do you know " that money is their sponsorship money"? I mean it might be and would not surprise me, but I would like to see some evidence. Are you saying the 5-25k is their pay + Reebok coupons?

To be fair, yes, some fighters made great money off sponsorships. But as whole many struggled to get anything and many times fighters had a hard time getting those sponsors to live up to the deals they signed. There was guy fighting for a championship in Bellator or Strikeforce that was on this forum back in the day trying to get a sponsor like 2 or 3 weeks out of from the event. Numerous sponsors only paying a portion of what they said they would to fighters.

What always never sat well with me was why did they not go into saying we'll start with an apparel brand and then we'll leave 4 spots to bring in other big sponsors to be displayed on all fighter gear. So instead of splitting up 11M or whatever it was the pot would've been like 30M or whatever. Either way if you at least double or maybe even triple the tier payouts, no one is complaining. Plus it didn't cost the UFC a single nickel out of their bottom line. I always though that was the path this was going to go down from day one and it just more or less stopped at Reebok.
