437 lbs to 250 - low carb

Restarted lifting. Focusing on immaculate form.

Brokeup with my girlfriend. Heartbroken but not defeated.

Weight is plateaued right now after a binge weekend with the (now ex) girlfriend.

1st page updated with a pic of me at 230.6 right before beginning to lift again.

1 lb of bacon, baked. Collard greens sauteed in olive oil/butter with fried garlic, onion, pepper and salt. Organic olive oil really makes those collards tasty.

I don't know about that bacon but I sure could go for a slab of dry rubbed spare ribs with those greens. Olive Oil is the the building block on which my entire diet is built upon, nothing is better.

Going to rock some brocollirabe with sausage tonight. Then put that on repeat for the entire weekend. I'm salivating just at the thought.

Fuck yeah. broccoli rabe is amazing. So is sausage. Maybe ill pick up some rabe today, I have some sausage in the freezer.

Cheers.

Awesome. Keep your head up about your girlfriend. At this weight I am sure it will be a lot easier to find a new one than it was back at 400+.

You are looking awesome. I hope to be back to 230 soon...40 pounds to go for me.

Fuckin awesome progression. Keep going!

Also, dont - for the fucking life of you - allow yourself to slump back into the hole for something as trivial as a woman. Not now, nor ever. Nobody's asking you to be a robot - by all means, the healthiest thing may be to just sulk and revel in the sorrow for a few days or a week, just dont let it manifest itself in destructive habits. Use this as fuel to push yourself even harder.

Oh, I won't, at least not intentionally. I stilled plateaued and spiked up to 240 somehow, probably from water weight/stress/depression

It's coming off now though following a 36 hour fast

There's a reason Orlando is known to Native Floridians as "Whorelando"...plenty of ladies about. Be young and have your fun.

How did you structure your refeed?

Eat a bunch of crap lol. Brazil nuts, almonds, macaroons, buffalo wings etc. It wasn't a planned refeed, it was a few cheat meals after breaking up with the GF.

Problem with me is, a cheat just 1500-2000 calories or so over my usual 1200-1500 calories can set me back for multiple weeks due to the worst genetics ever.

Also complicated by the fact im recomping right now due to restarting a powerlifting regiment.

As of today: back down to 230 and ~1 lb away from the 220s

A couple weeks is nothing in the long run. The only thing that matters is getting back to eating healthy. I realized at the beginning of the year, for the first time, that I am going to have to basically watch what I eat for the rest of my life. As long as you never fully give up is what really matters...because as you said the weight comes back EASY.

Yeah. I imagine that once im at my target weight that I could probably get away with one large cheat meal a week and break even. I could never routinely eat carbs again, and I don't want to/care either.

What is your target weight? It seems like you have been at around 230 for a while now.

Not sure, probably 210ish. I had been at a surplus for about 3 weeks (coinciding with some stress/depression/job woes/breakup) and am finally down to a (new) low weight now. I want to be well established in the 220s (mid) by my 2nd year anniversary. I've also had some constipation issues which is fucking up my weighins. I'm gonna start a meditation regiment to lower my stress level because I think thats making me retain some water as well. (hate my current job and trying to escape)

Another factor.. i'm doing body recomposition right now. My recent weight loss drop was from a period when I took a break from lifting. Now i'm powerlifting again, and heavier and with better form than before. So I am losing fat eitherway.

Is that dessert plate a tiny bowl or something? I can't seem to wrap my head around how it was only 200 calories. It looks amazing though. And are those chunks of chocolate or is that just jelly?

It's a large bowel. It's pretty simple:

the jellos are 5 calories each, theres 6 of them.

The cocoa powder is about 10 calories

The whipped cream is about 40 calories, the whipping cream is about 50, the nuts are about 50, the peanut butter is about 90. so Its actually more like 250 calories. But yeah, still very low.

It's because the bulkiest items are only 5 calories each.

Most low carb gelatins (particularly Jello) are actually crap. They contain 10-15 grams of sugar alcohol/serving and 50-100 calories/serving. This particular brand is pretty much nothing except citrus, water, gelatin and aspartame. The peanut butter is an optional item and is the most calorie dense item. I don't use a heaping table spoon, it's more like a teaspoon. Walnuts are quite calorie dense- but not if you get them shredded and just apply a small palm serving, not a huge handful.
