I am a huge izzy fan but his style is starting to bore me. It is reminiscent of post peak Anderson Silva. Counter style, but with huge reach advantage and excellent take down defense.
He can easily secure wins in the division for a longgg time. It's a similar reach equation as Jon Jones but at least Juicy got into some elbow wars and initiated exchanges beyond outside single strikes.

his refusal to engage & over reliance on his reach and long guard that creates boring scenarios is
truly infuriating to watch.
MWs have cought up that you can't rush him because he will counter you hard. So then the fight becomes a lot slower. I don't see him going onto heavy offensive either until he gets the other guy hurt. He used to ko and tko everybody but ever since he became a champ he knows he doesn't have to anymore. So he sits back and waits. You will never win a decision over him so suck to be you.

Well it's also the opponents he's been fighting in his last few bouts.
Whittaker was playing it smart which made the fight much closer and helped nullify a lot of Izzy's counters.
Vettori was very basic in his approach, but is super durable, so for Izzy to get a finish would be a tough task.

IMO I think he's gonna smoke Cannonier and get a TKO/KO in round 1 or 2.
I like Jared, I just see Izzy styling on him.

Adesanya’s a high level kickboxer/striker with tdd who’s benefited from favorable style matchups at the top of the division since he arrived. Prime Silva, Souza & Rockhold finish him on the ground in under 5 imo but they ain’t around anymore so it’s Izzy until someone like them shows up.

I wouldn't compare him with Silva.
Silva has plenty of highlight wins while the champ.

But yes, he sits and waits for the opponent to attack.
He is the champion, so the challenger feels the need to move forward...

That's why I was looking so much forward to Costa or Till... but then again, Israel is so good, he took on them as well...

He engaged with Gastelum and got battered.

He tried to engage with Romero in round 1 and got cracked.

I think he's decided to just fuck it and keep collecting paychecks at this point. Nobody can touch him if he just runs away, sticks his long arms out, and leg kicks you into a decision win. (although I'd argue that his decision with over Romero, Vettori, and especially Rob are very questionable)

Luckily Rob skipped and lunged his way into getting knocked out the first time, and Costa also made Izzy look great with whatever the fuck that performance was that night... otherwise Izzy might even more boring ass decision wins.

Well it's not like he just had a fight in the past few days so you must keep watching his fights over and over to have made this thread

Is it really his fault that his opponents are too scared to pressure him?

It's up to the rest of the competition to step up. Staying ahead is often said to be more difficult than reaching the top and Incan see that. He is an exceptional talent though, so it won't be easy for the rest to catch up. So far they have not shown any signs of doing so, despite whatever attempts of Robert Whittaker to argue otherwise.

In his case he backed off and was less aggressive to counter Israel's counter striking, so leading to a fairly unexciting fight where Israel was able to coast tona victory without really being tested.

Silva was a million times more exciting than Izzy, you can’t even compare.
Other than finishing ability which is literally just one single sequence in a fight, overall, he fights roughly the same as Izzy.

If the opponent didn't go right after Silva, the fight was always boring as fuck.

He fights "similar" except he scores way more finishes than Izzy does?

champions with many title defenses always become boring they trying to be as consistent as possible to get the W
