Media Colby is the best WW once Usman is out of the Picture. Really though?

The UFC, all these people that keep saying that, do they not know anything about fighting or are they completely unaware of all the fighters Colby is frightened to face in the WW division?

Burns

Luque

Khamzat

shavkat rakhmonov

Of course we are talking besides Usman

Colby may be the second best in the division but he's in no hurry to prove it. Aside from fighting for the belt he likes easy fights hence him calling out teammates he knows from experience he'll dominate.

There's no point. He isn't getting a shot anytime soon. He needs to finish porier for now.

Hard to say, these WW top guys mainly fought each other and some washed up competition.

New blood may come up and make them look amazing or expose flaws we don't see know.

I can definitely understand where he's coming from. Making another title run isn't going to happen so high profile fights are where he's at.

Hopefully he will lose his number 2 spot to guys with actual top wins like the Belal Luque winner but he'll probably keep that spot for years while fighting Poirier, Nate Diaz and rematching Masvidal.

I can't see Colby beating Burns or Shavkat. I'm not sold on Khamzat yet but he seems to be up there with them as well. Colby vs Luque would be a good fight

I hope new talent arrives soon, Colby is not my cup of tea. Masvidel neither.

The top "contenders" at WW have some of the weakest resumes I have ever seen. Anyone who gets some combination of wins over Maia/RDA/Woodley becomes a top 5 guy apparently.

Covington has been incredibly inactive and has usually beaten guys who were coming off losing streaks. He may very well be the #2 guy in the division and he might not but until he starts fighting top guys consistently, he will continue to be in Alexander Gustaffson territory where he is ranked highly based on good performances in losses rather than actual quality wins.

This. Colby managed to ride his performance against Usman to a second title shot but now he has few options unless he wants to fight the top guys. I guess he could call out Nate Diaz or Conor for a "money fight" which apparently is the kind of fights we fans want...

If anything he deserves a third title shot based on his performance in the second Usman fight cause most of us thought he won.

But anyway he should fight Dustin next and wait for someone else to dethrone Usman, and then he can fight one of those for number 1 contender.
