Neck and neck for me but ufc just takes it.

Strikeforce had some serious talent also though, that HW tournament should have been something we spoke about for 10+ years.

For several weeks in about 2009* or so, UFC had:

AO, Brock, Werdum, JDS, Cain, Carwin, Couture, Mir, Nog, and a few others.

That is technically the right answer.

But it’s also kind of a BS answer, because it only lasted a few weeks before Carwin and AO got popped, Brock got sick, Werdum left, etc, etc. So it didn’t really materialize into much value for fans.

So the best answer is Pride, 1999-2006.

*My timeline might have holes in it, but hopefully folks just get the gist of what I’m saying.

UFC definitely has the better roster. It's no comparison. I do however think that Ubereem would have been capable of beating anyone on the entire list on any given night.

The way the list is arranged is a little wonky. We’ve got UFC fighters like Ngannou and Gane on the list with Randy and Tim even though they were not in the same era at all. UFC existed a lot longer than these other orgs, so their roster gets skewed when it’s done that way.

Also the Strikeforce list is missing guys, like Fedor, Arlovski, Barnett, Kharitonov, etc.

Where’s Affliction? Only 2 events of course, but they had Fedor, Arlovski, Sylvia, Barnett, Rizzo, Yvel…it was a solid HW division.

A lot of the fighters crossed over and fought in multiple of these organizations, but if you want to limit them to the one they were known for the most, you have to add Kharitinov and Fujita to PRIDE and Cormier, Bigfoot and Rogers to Strikeforce and Carwin to the UFC.

With that said, I would prefer PRIDE's HW division.

Anyone who says Pride just has nostalgia bias or is a Fedor nuthugger who wants to promote the notion that he competed amongst the baddest guys. Sorry, it's true. And while I'll admit that Pride's best guys are just as good, if not better, than the UFC's, the perennial contenders/gatekeepers on the UFC's HW roster not included on the list over time have been better. Pride was a different era, and a lot of the guys there simply weren't evolved.

Also, idk why you have Hunt in Pride and Overeem in Strikeforce. Both had way more fights in the UFC than in those two orgs.

All the top HW fighters were in Pride.

The UFC had Arlovski and Tim Sylvia a few times... and relied on giving Randy Couture free title shots at HW to make people give a damn.

Whatever organization has Artem Lobov on the roster.

Tourneys cant exist the way they did in the PRIDE days

NSAC + USADA = the death of the tourney days.

Also you couldnt afford the best fighters to participate, now

Why do you list Ngannou along with Sylvia and Randy? Doesn't make any sense.

At least post the best from the same era but anyway it's Pride and it's not even close

UFC ran way way way longer than pride, which was only really around for a few years.. so it's not really fair..

If you're asking which promotion was more entertaining, there's no contest, PRIDE rules!!!!!
