I'm usually not a fan of fighters switching weight classes and getting immediate title shots but....

I would totally be down to see Jan vs Izzy 2 if Jan could make 185lb. I know it's a long shot cause Jan seems like a big 205er but if he could somehow squeeze the weight off I would be very intrigued by the fight because right now there is not a single guy in the top 15 at 185 who I'm even remotely interested in seeing Izzy fight.

Yeah, this would be interesting, but no way Jan makes 185.

Cannoneir could be an interesting contender, but Izzy beats him. Strickland, not so much and Izzy beats him as well.

I think if gsp came back even now would beat izzy. In their prime George's all day. Izzy won't fight usman.. maybe he'll fight khmazat. I doubt it though

Usman said he isn't interested in fighting Izzy because he would rather there be 2 Nigerian champs than 1 with 2 belts and that he would rather skip MW and fight for the LHW title when Jan was the champ.

There is no way Jan is cutting from 220ish to 185. That’s just insane and only guys like Romero and Costa do it because they know they can’t compete at LHW.

Jan is a big LHW, come on, he looked bigger than Stipe in his last fights.
I would like to see Adesanya at LHW vs Ankalaev, Reyes & Jamahal Hill.

If Jan does a Dillashaw and drains himself completely, he probably could do it, but what's the fucking point? Izzy would put him away with the first jab. Also Jan not being the champ makes such a move completely unneeded.

Adesanya underestimated Jan, he thought he could beat him easy, didn't put on enough mass, gave a lot of weight away. Probably concluded that there are weight classes for a reason. End of story.

They did it cause they start cutting probably 10lbs or more below Jan, not that they are small, but they are not average LHW's competing at MW, they are big MW's, Vettori also has weighed heavy at MW.

Well, Rumble used to cut from around 230 and make 170, so it can be done...

But Rumble also looked like a cancer patient and would gas in about 30 seconds at 170, and even at 197 (when he fought Vitor) gassed after round 1.

Bad idea to cut tons of weight. Staying close to your walk around weight is ideal. Still in favor of a 225 weight class, myself.

Would also benefit Jan since Izzy would have a hard time throwing a legal kick. What with Jan having to cut off both his legs at the knee to make 185….

Jan's crippled, and frankly, I'd be more surprised if he fights again than if he just retires.

If the guy were to ever switch weight classes, it'd be him going up to HW. The guy probably walks around at 230 minimum when out of camp.

We saw the best version of Jan we'll ever see in that fight, and after the Costa sized egg he laid in the Teixeira fight, nobody's calling for a rematch with Izzy. Izzy simply doesn't have the frame for LHW, and frankly, if he went up there, I think he would have even bigger problems with guys like Rakic and Ankalaev than he did with Jan.
