Because he's CEREBRAL. .. Just like our boy Vicente. He's not setting traps to clip you and string together a finishing combo, he's setting traps to decapitate you with one shot, mercilessly. It's what this sport needs and its a rarity nowadays.

There's nothing more beautiful to watch than a fighter who's technical and ferocious at the same time. You love to see it.

He may be cerebral, but is he apocalyptical?

I'm still not sold.

I think if Kattar survives the first 2 rounds and doesn't get his legs beat up he can win a decision or get a late finish himself.

Giga fucked my boy Barboza which I doubted too though so what do I know. Giga is pretty lucky there's not really any wrestlers at the top of the division until he gets to the current champ.

Kattar only brings the hands, not going to be multi faceted enough to challenge giga on the feet IMO.

Kattar starts slow. If he can overcome some early adversity and make it a grind on Giga with pressure and wrestling, I think he's got a real shot to win this fight. If he'll wrestle is anyone's guess and Giga has looked average when facing grappling pressure. If Kattar fights a one note fight, he's playing right into Giga's hands.

Like I said a few days ago in another thread, we will know a lot more about Giga on Saturday night. Until then, it's all speculation that'll turn into "I told you so" type posts if the guesses come to fruition.

Giga is a sniper and he is super active. One of the few guys who actually goes out and fights several times a year so he can not be denied an opportunity.

I dont think Kattar has much of a chance.

I am on the hype train also

Btw, a kickboxer who defeated Giga in GLORY Kickboxing back in 2015 and is 3-0 so far in his young MMA career just KTFO his opponent in LFA. His name is Anvar Boynazarov, nicknamed “The Uzbek”.
Can’t post any footage of it yet, but his fight is available on FightPass.

I'll officially be aboard if he takes out kattar or has a hard fought win and goes the distance. I think his gas tank is suspect for the amount of power he puts out. I definitely respect his fighting ability.

"we will know a lot more about Giga on Saturday night"
Not necessarily.
If it stays a stand up affair and Kattar gets starched within 3 then we still won't have learned much more about him.

That's fair, but I do expect him to face some adversity even if it's all standing. Kattar is tough as nails. He will make him work. Regardless, this fight will definitely legitimize him if he wins it.

Giga is on a completely different level than
Calvin Kattar when it comes to striking. Easy fight for Giga unless Calvin finds a second wind. People seem to believe Calvin is some sort of a dark horse in the division because of his 1-2.

This is an interesting match up, I'm excited to see it go down. Should make for an excellent opening card for 2022

Kattar’s kryptonite is obviously kick boxing. Hopefully he follows thru with what he’s said recently and goes back to his roots. If he can threaten Giga enough with the takedowns it’ll lower his kick output and give Calvin a real shot on the feet. I’m still picking Giga but am a fan of Kattar so hope he wins.

How can they stop the Giga kick??? they CANT
