With Lorenzo owning the UFC you had:

-Stable ppv prices for
-Company wasnt so corporatey and penny pinching
-UFC would give out more backdoor bonuses to fighters
-many fighters were looked after even when they retired
- UFC was run more like a family organization
-Lorenzo used to spank Dana when he was out of line.

Many fighters have commentated how UFC has changed since the sale. Including Anderson Silva who became disillusioned with how UFC was run now.

Now in the Ari Emanuel era you have:

-Bloated ppv prices, that keep rising
-more wmma fights (lets be honest more than half of the wmma roster is awful, but they keep pushing it on cards)
-watered down cards
- more cards through the year that just drag on
-You have to pay to subscribe to ESPN + and you still get ads on top of it
-They even messed up the TUF relaunch by putting Ortega and Volk on it lol.

Lorenzo with his suave Italian charm could have easily convinced Colby and Jorge to be coaches. The UFC isnt the same without him.

Discucc
Partly agree but what are you going to do about it?

They are the same type of people, but Ari and his ilk are more polished, and better connected (in legal circles). The Frittatas were "connected" in other ways. The sport is just being pimped out more now. It was bound to happen. Sherdog venture capitalists saw that before it happened, when they pointed out how uniforms, etc., were the strategy to go public, etc. I'm pretty sure Sherdog has it's own venture capital fund, it just isn't talked about....

Edit: Ari and his gang were better equipped to take Zuffa to the next level of corporate whoredom. The Frittatas took it as far as they could on their skillset, imo. They did establish the foundation tactics for dealing with fighters, which are still used today. This is why Dana is key in keeping Zuffa running. When he goes, things will get interesting.

WME but keep in mind they have deep ties to entertainment industry. Its almost a certainty that the Big Mouse has alot of influence and get what they want. Was interesting how Disneys CEO checked even the Goof and told him not to do fights in Indian Casinos

The "goof" hasn't run shit ever as far as I know.

He makes a good lightning rod/public face.

Lorenzo is why they never drug tested the leadership.

At least the new CEO doesn't slide into the DMs of the ring girls,

that we know of...

Who gives a fuck. Those chicks know what they’re there for and they’ll be happy a decently good looking Italian American millionaire is giving them the time of day with an opportunity to make a nice lil stack of cash on the side.

There's pros and cons in both. A balance between the 2 is best. WME-IMG era has made it more mainstream and got it into ESPN deal which is huge for the sport. It legitimizes it and that's why UFC has been chasing that forever. But Lorenzo definitely understood fighting/mma/UFC more than the WME-IMG people. They are still trying to figure things out and looking at it from a bunch of different scopes as they try to take in all the information. Reason why they can't get rid of Dana. They wouldn't know how to handle it without him.

I miss Brocktober!
