Nate seems to be chomping at the bit to get a fight as fast a possible. This is very uncharacteristic for either Diaz brother. He clearly wants to finish his UFC contract out and become a free agent. Dana has already been negotiating with Nate in the media, most notably implying he's afraid to fight Khamzat. He has 0 intentions of fighting Khamzat or Dustin either, his whole shtick that Dustin doesn't want to fight him is transparent.

Nate is looking for an winnable fight to go out on a high note. Going into free agency with a win would be the most beneficial for him to secure the fight he really wans, You can see he is already angling himself for that massive payday vs Jake Paul. Win/lose/draw he will make a shit ton of money in this fight.

After the massive boxing pay day, he would still have that Conor trilogy that would sell one final PPV. Nate ride off into the sunset with an extra 10M in the bank.

It's obvious that's his plan, he said he wanted to fight anyone before the end of the year but the only fight they offered him was Khamzat. Now they've extended his contract I think they're going to leave him on the shelf for a while and if he still hasn't re-signed in a few months they'll give him another crappy offer.

Hopefully he takes this upcoming fight with Dustin..

I think Nate signs another contract. He’s still got some big fights left in the UFC: Conor, Masvidal.. And obviously his fan base only grows stronger with each loss.

Imagine trying to negotiate in the media with Nate Diaz lol. You can't. He gives zero fucks what Dana White says.

If Nate fights Jake Paul and loses I will cry. He is going to probably give up some weight but if he has anything left I feel like he could tire Jake out.

Don’t blame Nate. He’s nearly 37 years old and six fights ago he was making $40,000. He’s never going to be a champ, however he’s got a boat load of name value

I think the Poirier fight is very winnable for him, specifically at 170 lbs. Size, reach, cardio, grappling, & durability present real problems for Poirier & I believe Nate feels similarly.

I know it's always cool to hate on the UFC but they have been putting on stellar ppvs the last 13 months, & I'm sure they' plan to continue to do so. I'd be surprised if this fight doesn't happen at 271. If Nate is willing to fight Mas & Leon, there's no reason he won't fight DP.

I think both Nate and Poirer had agreed to fight each other, Dustin posted about it already and they are just going over the details on the negotiations.

This is honestly the best possible time to do the Conor trilogy for both guys.
That's Conor's last fight. That's why it hasn't happened yet, they always had that saved for last. Conor will fight for the title and if Diaz isn't in the UFC anymore Conor will figure out another last fight for Conor's contract. Olivera wants the Conor fight, any fight with Conor not for the belt jeopardizes that potential match up. They almost lost it with Dustin not winning but Olivera wants a red panty night so it will happen.

Great point. That would sell.
Yes it would, but both Nate and Nick need to get back in boxing shape. They will both be undersized and both the Paul's punch harder than the Diaz bros, so their cardio/conditioning/volume needs to be on point. Chin too. Nick stopped fighting last fight, he can't do that vs the Paul's.

Doubt it, he'll make more in one fight with Jake Paul than those fights combined. Plus Dana was trying to match him up with Khamzat, if he stays his career isn't going to look good if he gets match offers like that for the rest of his career.

I’m not going to lie, I read this title as Nazi’s Plan. I was like, oh, boy…

Highly doubt it happens. That's high profile and winnable. And gives nate an opportunity to leave on a huge high. Dana is dead set against lending any sort of momentum to triller, which it seems pretty logical thats where Nate would go to box Jake Paul for a big pay cheque. If they're giving Nate a high profile fight on the way out the door, it'll be one they expect him to lose to dull the shine a bit on anything he does outside the promotion afterwards. We know the UFC will stoop to that level. So expect them to.
