He slows down. He’s getting older.

I just see him playing it safe if he’s up 2 rounds. I think he will be there to stand and bang round 1. If he doesn’t put him out, I see him grappling second. Then playing safe 3rd.
But who knows. No one knows. We are all just guessing

I think Justin takes this with a late fight TKO stoppage. 3rd Round. Absolute dog fight until then and Justins power, will and persistent pace eventually wilts and stops Mike. We are in for a treat of a fight I think.

Monkey wrench in all of this is Gaethje's mindset. Chandler's been down and out and humiliated and come back. But Gaethje - yeah, he went out on his shield twice, but that was when he straight up promoted it was gonna happen eventually, considering his style back then. So his ego was secure.

But the way Khabib worked him on the ground - Doostin, Barboza, Conor, even MJ showed more resilience and intuition. It's very possible that he was simply tired from doing his dance dance revolution footwork, trying to stay away from Khabib - which was impressive while it lasted - but maybe he really indeed doesn't have the best ground skills. Or maybe he himself thinks that right now.

So he might be afraid to get taken down, which could cause him to be more tentative - leading to a longer, mire point scoring fight. Or he might get strangled immediately cause Chandler's grappling is very good. Or at least tired out on the ground for a round or two.

Gaethje that showed up vs Tony I think wins or this escalates into chaos rather quickly and doesn't go for long. I also think Chandler hits harder than Eddie or Doostin so there's that, he could go out on his shield again.

Anyways, Gaethje's mind is the key factor here, I think. And we won't know until he's out there.
