He's beat 2 - the current #14 & #15. It's not just who you beat but how you beat them as well. He also has the longest win streak of all contenders and the lowest strikes absorbed in all of UFC!

I think he should have to fight a top 5 opponent first.. RDA is a great test, but not one i'd deem worthy of a Title Shot in 2021.

If Dariush gets a spectacular win then maybe but if Islam/RDA winner is ready to fight again in early 2022 while Dariush's last fight is still May 2021 then no Dariush shouldn't be ahead.

Think about process of elimination.

There's 5 in the top 5. Islam is one, another is getting the TS that leaves 3...gaethe and Justin are fighting each other that leaves just one - Dariush...so because Dariush chooses to spend family time and not fight for a bit you think Islam shouldn't get a TS? That makes no sense

Beating Tony > beating RDA

Both are old & washed getting dominated by Chiesa & Dariush but Tony beat RDA so you have to give that win a slight edge. RDA losing to Islam will make him 2-5 in his last 7.

Correct. It’s a deep division. If Chandler beats Justin and Charles beats Poirier, Islam has a shot at the fight.

If Gaethje wins there’s zero chance Islam jumps him.

Dariush is in danger of being the odd man out, but if he finds a win somewhere in the meantime he should remain ahead as well.

I don't believe the matchmaking has been good, wins over 15 and 7 doesn't warrant title shot imo regardless of who you are.. I don't really care about the circumstances, Dustin should be next surely and then time will tell.

Even Ali who is Gaethje's manager knows Islam vs RDA is the #1 contender fight not Gaethje vs Chandler who each lost recently and have probably the highest strikes absorbed stats of all LWs
